It was a magnificent tree for sure, however as the weather was atrocious it was a very quick stop to view it in the fading light and rain.I was dubious about its claim to being the largest of its species in the world as I'm sure I've seen larger.

Beautiful tree. Enormous. Check out the side away from thr Road which has been left to grow wild whereas a few branches trimmed on the road side. Privileged to have seen this.

It was fantastic to see such a majestic tree.It had such a presence overlooking the beachMust see after going to East Cape lighthouse.Just down the beach from the main Street of Te Araroa.

Quietly hidden in the village, this is worth visiting. Allegedly over 350 years old, it is a massive Pohutakawa tree. Climbing it is prohibited.A nice information board explains the history of the tree.

Tree was as described, Old.Didnt stay in Te Araroa as nothing like previous coastal stops. Although good 4 Square with friendly staff.

It is a beautiful old tree. You can get up close for great photos. Plenty of parking for our big bus. The tree has gorgeous sea views. Public toilets close by. It was very windy the day we visited but that adds to the experience.
