I have trained BJJ on and off for a few years so I have been at a few different gyms.Nicks gym is solid and it has given me a whole new perspective on Jiu-Jitsu. He focusses on the foundations and it has helped my BJJ a lot in just 3 months.He incorporates kaupapa maori too which I have never come across at another gym and it feels like a whanau vibe. I highly recommend anyone joining that wants to start or evolve their Jiu-Jitsu

Having never done martial arts or any sort of grappling or combat sports before, I was nervous turning up for the first time and didn’t know what to expect. I couldn’t have walked into a more welcoming place. Everybody at Te Maru has been nothing but friendly, inviting and helpful throughout the beginning of my Jiu Jitsu journey. Highly recommend Te Maru to anyone, regardless of experience level!

My rank 4th degree purple belt.I've been training jiu jitsu for about 7 years now but I am new to this academy and I couldn't be happier.Its definitely the best academy I've ever trained at I've only been training here a few months and I've made tremendous progress due to the skilled black belt head coach and owner, his really professional and focuses on systematized skill development and it shows in all his students from the kids to the adult.Friendly and fun training environment I'm looking forward to continuing my jiu jitsu journey with coach Nic and the team at Te maru.

I started my Jiu Jitsu journey 6 months ago and I am so stoked I was recommended Te Maru Jiu Jitsu. Nic does an extremely good job of making everyone feel safe, respected and included regardless of experience and the culture amongst students reflects this.
