My favourite bar to go to. The venue is so beautiful especially the secret garden, but what makes it the best, is the staff. Gracie and Rene are so lovely and welcoming, they always checkup on me, make sure i’m having a good time, and i have the best yarns with them. Plus they make banging drinks. My favourite people and place on ponsonby road LOVE YOU GUYSSS

Been coming here for a while now and it's the best place to come. Great people, great service, great drinks, great music.Had the unfortunate experience to find myself in Ponsonby on a night when Cafe 39 was closed. Nothing wrong with other Ponsonby establishments, but Cafe 39 is the best one.

Best place in Ponsonby for brunch and dinner. Lovely back outdoor area, food is awesome and owner is a genuinely great host. Please support this local business. Worth the visit! Big news! Cafe 39 has had a makeover. New bar and new ambiance. Food was dope as usual. Our favourite!

What a hidden gem. I’m sure it’s awesome at night too, but if you want a quick, cheap, delicious breakfast sandwich in a sunny little backyard terrace, check this place out! The coffee was great too. I loved it. They should update their Google Maps hours as they’re in fact open during the day on Saturday when it says they’re closed.

We were at the cafe for lunch. The owner who served us was a very nice host and made sure we were well looked after. The food was lovely, nicely presented and yummy. The mushroom on toast was creamy with a very subtle hint of cumin. The coffee wasn’t mine so no comment other than would you look at that froth!

39 is the most underrated cafe/bar of all time. A welcoming and lovely vibe, amazing drinks, and the most down to earth bartenders and owners aswell. You guys are such awesome people to chat and smile with. Thank you for always making our experiences a lovely one, keep doing you. COME TO 39!
