Apex Car Rentals Napier Airport

I'm divided as to whether to give 5 or 1 stars.We had a problem with our hire car as we were approaching Napier (wiper blade flew off while in use), brought it into the Napier office where we were seen to immediately and the car was assessed straight away. As it couldn't be fixed immediately we were given a replacement (a newer model which was very nice) and were on the road again in no time. Everything was effortless, quick, with efficient friendly staff. Would have been definitely 5 stars, if that was my only interaction with this office.It does seem that service is very dependent on which staff member though, as I spoke with a very unpleasant man on the phone later. I called to enquire about a charge for refuelling - we'd been advised there wouldn't be a surcharge for refuelling because of the situation, just fuel costs, but based off the fuel we'd bought previously (and the prepaid fuel costs I asked about on hiring) it looked like we had been charged a surcharge. The man was argumentative and kept repeating at me you have to pay for the fuel"

Good service, from online booking, to pickup car until dropping the car and keys. Will surely use apex car again when going for holiday trips!

Such a great start to my experience, firstly I have to say the girls at apex are awesome! I picked the car up at 11.15am and had it just for the day, ended up returning it at 2.20pm. The lovely lady told me if the pin is still above the full line when you return it don’t worry about putting gas in. I went to 2 appts and returned it with the pin above the full line on the gas cage! When I walked in the man asked if I had filled up, I explained what the young lady had told me, he said no go fill it, I said again what she told me and he said go and fill it it’s not fair on the next person. He was so rude and made me full really uncomfortable, he made the young girl drive me and the car to the gas station to full. It was $5.02 of gas.I understand the rules but when your told something different then made to feel like a idiot is not exceptable. I will be doing a lot of business in Napier but won’t use these guys again! Sorry girls.

Good service from friendly staff. The car was in good condition and the price was very reasonable. Be aware of the office hours when you book or else you may not get the free shuttle to the airport.

Quick enough though management needs to sort out porieties and staff focus on customers services.Also, didnt enjoy my courtesy drive back to airport due to incompetent male driver who needs to re-set his license!!

Excellent rental company to deal with. No waiting around for shuttle because it's located only 1 min drive away. Super quick with the whole process. Drop off super efficient - it's at the airport as you fly out and no shuttling back to the depot. Key drop off inside arrivals is very simple. And it's very good value. We highly recommend Napier Apex!

Rang apex Napier at 5:13 was happy if they were closed to leave message with details for team to call me back.Wanted a quote as it states online to ring.Allister answered.Was told to ring back tomorrow we are are closed". No problem but WHY ANSWER MY CALL IF YOU WON'T DEAL WITH MY QUERY.I then asked what time they were open tomorrow. Was told "8am but don't ring then! Ring after 8:30!" He sounded very unhappy with me. As I then asked what time they closed tomorrow. He said "5" as if I should already know.If I might be a future customer why be so rude. Why answer the phone if you don't want to deal with a customer. Also assuming you are a retailer and looking to sell your services why not ask my details which would have taken 2 minutes or give me a verbal estimate if you work there you should know your products and pricing.We wanted a vehicle for four full days and we're willing to pay upto $275 per day. But after that call not with that team."
