Mountain Chalet Motels

My family and I stayed here for one night as we had a few trips to Mount Cook planned. It’s a decent sized place with all the essentials provided including a full kitchen. It was a bit dusty and old, but we enjoyed the charm of the chalet style accommodation. One thing I did not appreciate (which is outside the control of the motel) is the noisy neighbours who were playing music and talking loudly well into the night. This made it hard to sleep so just be aware that if you have disrespectful neighbours, it might affect your experience here.

Comfortable and warm but outdated and definitely need some cleanup and updates.Worst part, there's no chimney or exhaust fan near kitchen and then it says if there's any smell left after cooking you'll be liable to pay $100 or more.

We stayed in the cabin for 3 people. The rooms are nice and warm and have an attached bathroom and a very small kitchen.The rooms are nice and unique but they were a bit small and congested and doesn't have much ventilation if you close the doors which will happen in winter.But the rest of the services are good and would stay here but request a better and bigger room.

Very spacious double room with a large kitchen and bathroom. The staff at reception were friendly and very helpful. It’s close enough for an easy walk into town for dinner or to the grocery store.

Clean and tidy motel situated at Twizel with great access to cafes and restaurants. Each room was literally a tiny house well spaced from other rooms. Great atmosphere and would love to visit again

Very nice motel. Cute little cabins with everything you need. In walking distance to shops and restaurant. Beds had heated mattresses - my wife loved it!

1 brm chalet is perfect. It contains 1 queen bed & 1 single bed IN THE ONE BRM. So grateful we got the lounge/dining for that purpose only and not sleeping in it.Why cant so many others do that?Therefore, we will return, again.Thank you owners for understanding one of our previous visits here had to be cancelled due to floods. No charge.The location, views and lovely town is all good. Do come and see for yourself

Terrible Experience!!You should definitely book this if you want your room being cancelled at the very last minute .I think it is important to inform other potential customers the situation you might face if you book this not-trustworthy motel.I book the motel three months ago via Agoda.And got the pay-extra-$85-or-cancel-email just 12 hours before my checkin time.Chalet motel says if we don't pay extra 85 dollars,they will cancel our room and states that they have problem about pricing issue with Agoda.If there were a price issue,the Chalet motel should tell me 3 months ago before they send me the room confirmation letter,not at 12 hours before the check-in time.It is so rude to cancel the booking (ask for extra charge) at the last minute,just 12 hours before the check-in time..... I don't even have time to look for other place.I travel from other country to new Zealand.We got this message during our trip, and need to stop our schedule and spend hours dealing with this problem.Maybe the price is not super significant,but I think a right motel should never treat its customers like this.For me, Chalet motel lost its reputation.I am totally disappointed to it.
