Sandwiches were tasty, but you definitely have to pay a premium. Worth trying just to get the curiosity out of your system, but I'd say if you have tried pork or chicken katsu on rice , you're not entirely missing out. The fruit sandwiches had a strong yuzu flavour to it, so if you're not much into citrus flavour, maybe not try it, but overall, nice experience. FYI, it can get pretty busy, real fast.

A small cafe in the vibrant Takapuna, went there to buy takeaway on a Saturday morning and it is super busy. There are a few tables for you to dine in, but most people take out. The wait time was surprisingly short. They make all the sandwiches fresh to order. Authentic Japanese style sandwiches, tasty, juicy and crunchy. Will definitely visit again.

Love this place and I think it has got even better. You can now order on a screen at the counter. Our faves are the classic egg sando and prawn tempura sando. Coffee is also excellent. Our son likes the kids meals as well as the rice boxes. Go! You won’t be disappointed!!

The sandwiches here are top notch, I always try to stop by when I’m in Takapuna!I’ve been able to try a few of their flavours now (katsu, ebi prawn and eggplant) and honestly my favourite was the dashi eggplant. I usually love katsu but this eggplant sando was extra extra good. It’s really crispy and flavourful. Definitely a must try if you visit!I also really wanted to try their fruit sandos when I first came but unfortunately just missed it. Managed to grab a strawberry cream sando on my next visit. It still hit the spot but I think since the fruit sandos are refrigerated the bread is not as soft as the other kinds.The staff are really friendly and service is pretty quick even when the store is busy.

EGGPLANT SANDO - A must have dish here.The eggplant was deep fried and then seasoned with a sweet soy flavour. The bread was super soft and the flavours were perfect.The key to this place's fresh delicious flavour is that they make your sando to order, unlike other places that tend to make it in advance and then serve as customers come in.Easy to use kiosk ordering system.Cute decor with the theme of the cute wee dog around the place.I will be back!

Japanese style sandwiches are becoming trendy and this will be the place to go!Katsu was nice and thick, ebi (shrimp) was nice and crunchy. Even though it was cut into thirds, it's quite filling!Also some cute goodies for sale at the counter too.Didn't get to try the fruit sandwiches, something for next time!
