Awakeri Hot Springs

I've been to these hot pools 5 times in the last 2 months and everytime I go there is no soap in the bathrooms, therefore people going to the loo are not washing their hands before getting in the pool, touching rails etc. The last time I went the bathroom and changing room smelt putrid!! And there was water all over the floor. So horrible. If things don't improve I will stop going as it makes it an unpleasant experience

Stayed here 3 years ago and was a bit run down and tired but not too bad. Stayed again this week and if you are looking for a not so cheap, dirty, run down motel this is the place to stay. Sorry guys but have to be honest it was awful, and way too expensive for the room which was booked a few months in advance, we arrived to mold throughout the whole cabin and a terrible smell, so was transferred to a tourist flat which was supposed to be cheaper, but was not offered a refund for the difference, really no better apart from no mold on roof. Under the squabs in room were disgraceful very obvious the room was not cleaned, also the floor was so dirty. Thought we were going to fall through the deck as the boards were loose and rotting, and door got stuck all the time on railings, had we not booked months in advance for other activities we were doing we would not have stayed here. Will not be returning and would be giving it no stars. Would not recommend staying :-(

Just Stayed here with my two children for one night heaps of mould on walls and ceilings really cold and damp woke up to moisture all down the walls and ceiling and kids with running noises and a cough. none of heaters worked even power points didn't work. Really needs a deep clean some insulation and heatpump and a Really good makeover!

It was the grubbiest I've ever known. Trees have fallen into the natural hot pool. The heated floor in changing rooms wasn't on or is broken making changing gross, clothing getting wet from the floor. It's such a treasure and so sad it's going to the dogs. New management needed. The trail needs maintenance, it dangerous.

Booked our family here to stay in the cabins as that's all they had available for my daughters 5th birthday hot pools was really the highlight for us and our tamariki. We booked two cabins and out of the two cabins one was satisfactory however the other was not as when we first entered the first thing we notice is No light bulbs so went to reception to ask for light bulbs staff was nice and offered a umbrella as it was pouring with rain the smell was musty and mouldy. could do with a few renovations Holes in the back of the room doors and punch holes in the walls. When rough Pax stay here they intend to commit violence and the holes in the walls happen.Looks like they also smoke in the rooms with no smoking signs anywhere in the cabins. The energy that you get from the rooms are make it your own. Toilets are quiet far from your room if your in the front cabins if your busting to go you need to run Abit far. So bring your own camping toilet if you can.Alot of privacy around the place. Hot pools were nice, public showers were okay although these are straight from the bore do you get that sulpher smelling shower water.Overall a good stay.

The facilities were really clean and tidy, the campground itself has a suffered a little bit from the heavy rain, but I left feeling extremely peaceful and revitalised thanks to the beautiful native bush scenery and the relaxing hot pool, I will definitely visit again, also the staff were super polite, and helpful

Very very run down, toilets& showers were grose. The spot we were given to park up had wasps and traps right there so we moved to another spot. Only thing going for the park was the pool, but even then its not supervised pool open to the public as well. Unsupervised kids, kids doing bombs, running and one guy drinking beer in there, all these things on sign as not allowed to do.

Prefect place to stay with the family. Peacefull and quiet but plenty of other kids. Hot pools were amazing. Clean and nice looking. Cooking facilities were clean.

Such a lovely hidden treasure.The pool was just gorgeous,Friendly stuff and the grounds were well keepedMotel unit was old and tired.Didn't mind the oldBut the tired and dirty was a struggle.The person before us left tooth paste on the floor and a spider was stuck in it and died. The windows weren't clean and I don't know when they were last cleaned, inside window above the had bird shot in the cobwebs. The kitchen window had thick pollin on it from when. Behind all the curtains were old dead bugs in the cob cobwebs.The sliding door to the bedroom was off the rollers and leaning against the wall. The bedspreads needed replacingPaid for two nights and stayed one.We had to leave early and was told no refunds on early check outs..Sad to see such a lovely treasure in such a state.
