My rating purely based on their process.An online booking done & approval confirmation received. Went into site next day to pick van up, and was denied due to a term or business rule that does not map back to their T&Cs.I pleaded my case to staff that technically due to no mention I should still be allowed, but was denied and left with I'll send email with my feedback.Still waiting on a response to my reply.Still feel I was wronged.Issue: over 25yrs+ was going to be charged 2k bond due to full license issue date. No where does this state on their policy other than, if your 21-25yrs section or insurance which relates to excess and not bond.

Have used 'Eastern Rentals' several times over the years Van hire for family road trips.I have found there CS very helpful and obliging.Would like to give a big shout out to 'Ali' who assisted me with the Online booking quote your paitence was unwavering.We were booked for another family road trip Napier ways this week but due to thedevastating weather and road closures, general health & safety cancelation was imminent.On phoning early Thurs morning to advise of cancelation I spoke with Ali to confirm cancelation I also asked if my deposit would be refundable as it clearly states in there conditions NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT.Due to the circumstances they agreed to refund deposit.I would like to thank Eastern Rentals as it was truly appreciated and as a Company this shows a sense of empathy towards your customers and fellow Kiwi's who have suffered such loss in this devastingly tragic week.We will return to book our next roadie!Nga mihiDonna a'Court Yin

Brought the vehicle back within the time agreed to as per the paperwork. Then was told I would be charged the full day, due to the elapsed time from pickup (supposedly about 30 mins overdue), contradicting the paperwork I signed. I told them I wasn't ignorant of the law, and eventually they relented. I got the impression they try this sort of thing on fairly often.

Great service and super helpful staff. Would highly recommend and will use them again next time we are back in QLD.

Had a really good experience with renting trucks from them in the past. Always professional and pleasant to deal with. Until today. The truck was used very gently on one trip, when on return they suddenly “found” a bent channel at the bottom of the rear door. Definitely not caused by anything I have done. The next question from the person was if I took the extra insurance and that it will be a $250 excess fee. No person off the street if going to check a vehicle in depth and “photos and videos as proof” doesn’t fly of there is no way for me to know that it wasn’t done by the previous guys. Very unhappy, and will definitely not use them again. And advise everyone against doing so. I just feels like a scam to get more money out of someone. Especially with the way the person acted on return of the vehicle.

Highly recommend. The staff are super helpful and kind, and they go out of their way to help. The truck we got was fairly new and really sleek to operate.I didnt get the gentleman's name who helped us but he really went above and beyond in accommodating our late return and I'm really grateful to him.Really good value for money and great customer service, thank you so much team!

Helpful staffs and always keen to help. Trying best to workout everything to help rentals easier for customers. Variety of trucks and some new additions in Vans category.
