Bargain Rental Cars - Christchurch Airport

Booked a 12 seater van to use around Christchurch for a couple of days.Very good service, the staff we encountered were friendly and professional.Efficiently organised online so you know what your options are and via email they were very easy to deal with, would absolutely use again.

Great team to deal with. Everyone I dealt with was just so helpful and friendly. The shuttle service from the airport was great and I would definitely deal with them again. A couple days after I picked up the car someone ran into me (always get the platinum insurance if you can!) and reporting it to the staff was easy. The manager (Shane) was super helpful and it was easy to fill in the paperwork. I had the car for 2 and a half weeks, and it fitted the bill perfectly.

This rental car is the biggest rip off I have ever experienced in New zealand. They charged me almost $1000 for 5 days, with this condition of car one could probably buy for $500 on trade me. The car had odo meter miles frozen at 299999 km. Moreover, the car would wobble above the speed of 70 on the highway. It was the most unsafe car any rental could provide. BARGAIN RENTAL is probably named because they buy scrap cars and fix them, and provide them for rentals double the price.Car was stinking, it was stained and fifty on seats, the whole car was covered with dings all over, and bumper tied with cable ties. I wonder if it's fit for the warrant of fitness and commercial use. I have used other rentals and they privide current model cars for cheaper than this one.we had to wait almost 40 minutes for pick to get to their rental place. This is the biggest rip off company in New Zealand.

Most amazing service provided. If you are looking for customer service and a great reasonable car deal I highly recommend. We had the greatest service and were helped immensely with our after hours service arrangements. We had booked at the Novotel due to our late arrival but wasn’t aware there was no parking. The shuttle bus service were amazing and offered to keep our car until the morning for pick up and then drove us back to the airport and offered to collect us again in the morning. Travelling with a 7 year old who was made so easy by these guys. Thank you so much.

Giving them a solid 3 stars. Car was ok (second hand Japanese car so we couldn't read anything on the monitor). Price was good (for NZ, but not if you're used to Europe or Asia prices). BRC itself was strange. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly, but it was a sloppy outfit (e.g. gave me the wrong dropoff location, staff didn't know the difference between a credit card hold and a credit card charge/refund). Customer service unresponsive to feedback. If you're looking for a car and are trying to save money, then they are legitimate enough. But don't expect the level of service of a mainstream car rental company.

I rented a car for a 6 week holiday for my family of 5. Pick up Auckland and drop off Christchurch. Whole process from booking, confirmation, pick up, drop off, exceptional quality and comfort of vehicle and the low price was fantastic. I can't recommend this company highly enough. The only thing 'budget' about it was the price.

Second car rental with BRC in Christchurch (first one in Auckland a week before). All was fine, procedure provided by mail was clear for pick-up and return, no problem with the car during 9 days and 2.000 km in Southland NZ

Would recommend Bargain Rentals, easy pick up and drop off. Car went well, and we managed to see some of the sites Christchurch has to offer. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will use them again when we need a rental car
