Awesome, staff in info center were so helpful and friendly. The water tower was great views were amazing even on a drizzly morning . it's worth doing

It wasn't opened to the public as Hawera main street had their Christmas parade, the weather turned absolutely WET.

Historical Tower. You can get the key from the information centre below. Stairs are really small, so be careful, but the walk to the top is worth it. Spectacular views.

Great view from the top and week worth the climb up.But be warned:it's a strenuous trip and the steps can be a bit rough and rather narrow in places

Great experience to do! Check in at the i-site and go up for $2.50. Stairs are narrow and steep so keep that in mind!

Make sure you have the required fitness to climb up the stairs. Before reaching the top, there is an area which is quite narrow and therefore may not fit large size person >150kg. This tower was not built initially for tourists, so we can understand it may not be suitable for everyone. If you have small kids and hyperactive, make sure you are able to control their movements.The price is very cheap. The staff at isite will give you the key for you to have an independent tour. At the top, you can see the whole Hawera and the mountain. We enjoyed our time.
