Blockhill Forest Garden & EcoCabin
An amazing place run by amazing people! A fantastic example of permaculture and food forestry, and how to create abundance in a dry climate. The cottage is a great spot for a weekend getaway, and we received a very warm welcome and delicious home-grown food from Olmec and Melisa. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Blockhill Forest Garden & EcoCabin
Blockhill is a very relaxing place to get closer to nature and learn about food forests and gardening. There are lots of farm animals and birds. The birdsong in the morning is the best kind of alarm clock and is very refreshing. I just spent a couple of nights there, and got the best sleep I've had in ages, in a rustic cabin with an outdoor toilet and shower. If you like living simply and want a peaceful escape, I highly recommend a visit to Blockhill.

What a magical setting! Melisa and Olmec have done an amazing job of creating a peaceful, relaxing environment and were both very accommodating. They also went out of their way to answer our questions about the beautiful permaculture based garden setting they have, which has given us plenty of ideas for our own home. Just a beautiful place to unwind.

Blockhill Forest Garden & EcoCabin
I stayed at Blockhill for a few days and had a splendid time. I loved the outdoor shower, heater with a wood burner in a beautiful wood cabin and the daily feeding of the free ranging ducks, chicken and piggies. The location is beautiful and feels calm and remote. Olmec and Melissa are such great people to be around with and I'd wish to spend time with them and their amazing Permaculture farm again!

Blockhill Forest Garden & EcoCabin
A group of us visited Blockhill to participate in a lecture/tour on food foresting and permaculture. We had such a magical day with Olmec, Melisa and the many animal friends they host on their property. We left Blockhill with plentiful knowledge on the principals that Olmec and Melisa have utilised to create their vision, inspiration to incorporate permaculture into our own lives, and a yearning to return to Blockhill as soon as possible!!!

Blockhill Forest Garden & EcoCabin
We were staying here for three days in February 2023.We were glad it was possible since we‘re travelling and we were not able to stay in the area for a long time.The way Melisa and Olmec run their garden was very inspiring to us. They explained a lot about perma culture and the way they had set up their garden as we were very interested.The work we did is pretty much helping out with some stuff that simply takes longer when doing it alone.They have been very considerate too, providing gloves and avoiding the hot midday hours.We had some great talks and enjoyed our stay in the shed a lot.Would definitely recommend!
