Tatare Tunnels Walk
The walk is great although I’d recommend good hiking boots for the walk and gumboots for the tunnel. The last leg of the walk is quite steep in places and a very small rocky walkway so not recommended for young children or anyone unfit. The tunnel is now only open at one end (the walk track end) as the aqueduct at the other end is damaged and has been closed off.

Takes about 1h20m to complete at a good pace in the wet. Not worth it unless you like tunnels. Pleasant enough, a few steep areas, otherwise moderate. Wear water proof shoes and bring a torch

Tatare Tunnels Walk
Nice and easy walk with great sceneries. The track is surrounded by mossy trees and a beautiful river. You will need a touch and gumboots if you are planning to go further inside the tunnels, water is about ankle height.

Solid hike to get to the tunnels. We weren’t prepped for water so didn’t go in but the hike up was still pretty awesome. Fairly steep and uneven at parts - would not recommend for children or folks with bad knees

Was a fun hike. Glowworms in the center of the cave were really cool. The water was only about ankle deep at its worst. Well worth it!

really cool that they keep the tunnel open for people to walk through. the fact it's through solid rock and doesn't need bracing probably helps.many people walk through the tunnel barefoot to avoid soaking their shoes -- the water will be cold, but should be safe, and you'll get used to it. the glow worms are mostly on the far side of the tunnel rather than near the entrance, so you have to commit in order to see any.note that the tunnel isn't super tall, but someone like 6' can comfortably walk without having to hunch over. just wear a light hat if you're worried about bumping your head.

Tatare Tunnels Walk
Amazing tunnel walk, ankle deep water on a good day so open shoes are recommended if you are going in, the water is pretty cold but only gets ankle deep at the deepest part. The ending of the tunnel has been fully boarded up and you can't leave the end of the tunnel any more which is a shame but safety is important. Would definitely recommend this walk to everyone so long as you can get up the short but steep hike

Tatare Tunnels Walk
This is a great hike to the Tatare Tunnels. There are a couple of recent slips along the way but still manageable. There is a constant flow of water through the caves so you will get wet feet (ankle deep at the most). We took sandles with us to change into and out of. And a torch is a must. Interesting history board at the start of tunnel.
