Bring back the old Portlander.- what has happened!! New door entry badly positioned, freezing when anyone came through door! Food was very average. Way-too much salt! And there was not a smile to be had in any of the wait staff! Even the host staff were very sour! Not a pleasant experience!

Awesome restaurant attached to the Rydges Hotel on Featherston Street.A steak based restaurant, but enough non-meat options to keep vegetarian like me happy.Five of us had a great meal, plenty of food at reasonable prices for a higher quality restaurant.Plenty of options from the bar, wines, beers, spirits. And non alcoholic for those who might be driving.

Visited for an after-work drink with a friend. Good selection of whiskey and a few cosy seats but not heaps, so you could end up sitting in an area more like the hotel lobby I'd you ain't careful. Also smells a littttle meaty due to the steak restaurant - nothing terrible but if you are a vegan...

Came for the WOAP dine experience with a voucher for four, but the kitchen had only two meals left—no problem for the staff, they suggested we save the voucher for another time and gave us the two meals on the house. Delicious combo of portobello mushrooms and blue cheese panna cotta—also had the sirloin, lamb, and fish of the day, all cooked to perfection and complemented with excellent sides.Beautiful dining experience with attentive staff, would almost come back just for the atmosphere—excellent food just takes the cake.

We went for a wintery lunch looking for the best steak in Wellington. Google suggested here but we were disappointed.Very expensive, limited steak at lunch, broccoli side was so soggy and dripping with water. Drinks were missed which they did sort and apologised for. Definitely wouldn’t go back unfortunately.

Located onsite within The Rydges Hotel on the ground floor. Nice atmosphere and friendly service from the waitresses. Easy access for wheelchairs and parking right in front, on the street. The food was delicious, pork belly and rib eye steak were beautiful and finished off with lovely deserts. Will definitely go there again.

Nice food. Took about 90 mins to get food. And they also gave us cokes with no flavor in them and then argued with us thar they were ok. Will not be going back because of the speed and lack of service

Beautiful location. Sadly only massive cuts of their signature meats. The veggie side was chunky cut broccoli that wasn't very well cooked.Steak very nice. Venison pie super yummy!Sadly the waiter seemed very uninformed and uninterested in the wine list. We hoped to find a great wine pairing. We were recommended 'a red is good'.Overall good though!

I had “the cheese burger” and this is the best ever! This is what the cheese burger is. It was not only cheesy but patty was so yummy. Plus, fries was so fresh! My wife took a 2 course package of “tagliatelle and “flourless brownie”. She enjoyed all food. Afraid we couldn’t finish the desert since so full up.And staff always look after our table.Overall, will definitely come back and eat the burger again and try steak as well.

The bun on my pork belly burger was burnt. Not edible. Not good. The steak on my partners meal was well cooked- not good for medium rare. Not good.
