It's the second luxury campsite on Highfield Farm, after Highfield Forest Retreat - Highfield's first, highly successful luxury forest camp. The property is an easy weekend commute from Auckland - 25 minutes from the Northland town of Dargaville and 2.5 hours from Auckland city.

Canopy Camping Escapes - Highfield River Retreat
Tracy's attention to details is impeccable. The tent felt like a luxury hideaway. The bed super comfortable, a zone with seating and a cute very effective wood stove for warmth. The bathroom and cooking facilities are excellent. The sounds of the river nearby, with kiwi calls during the evening makes this place a true magical glamping experience.

The facility is great and bedding is very comfortable. Have drive on a gravel road to get there but other than that, it’s an excellent choice for a weekend getaway. Also it’s a very short drive to ka iwi lakes and tane mahuta.
