Fantastic experience, a must do if you are staying or travelling through Twizel. ShuShan & I rocked up at the airport (Pukaki-Twizel Airport) mid afternoon on 3rd March 2023 to enquire about flights around Mt Cook. Weather was a bit suspect for the mountains, so we both jumped into the front of the biplane & did the 18 minute local flight there and then (takes about an hour all told, with the engine warm up, taxi out etc). Really enjoyed our flight & great views (& photos) of the mountains, Lake Pukaki & Twizel. Thoroughly recommend, especially if you like open air cockpit flying.

Incredible views and ride. Plane feels absolutely alive underneath you. Chris is wonderful and passionate. Highly recommend.

A minute before Twizel township is an adventure waiting for you. We swung into Red Cat Bi Plane airfield with the intent of booking a flight and ended up going there and then! There is a red plane and a yellow with checquered black on its side parked by the large black hangar that also houses an aviation museum. We were given goggles and heavy leather flight jackets, and out collie Fred was looked after by the pilots wife and played with their dog. Up in the air in about two minutes after the warm up and a breathtaking fly over Twizel and surrounding areas lasted just long enough for me to start getting cold then we dropped back down after about half an hour, which was a dream come true for me. My daughter had been proposed to in the same plane the new year before. An experience absolutely worthwhile.

Expensive but it's really worth it. The experience of flying outside on an historic plane with the view of mount Cook, the glaciers and the turquoise blue lake is unforgettable !

The flight was honestly the thing dreams are made of. The Cessna was comfy and the views were to die for. Definitely recommend seeing ALL the glaciers. Next time we'll try the Biplane.

We had a ride with Chris in the Cessna and it was absolutely stunning - so much information about the southern alps, lakes and history. He is an awesome pilot! Cheapest we could find too!
