Glacier Helicopters Franz Josef Glacier

If you are going to do one thing in New Zealand, this is it. Just amazing experience standing on top of a moving Glacier. Rainbow covered clouds and glitter covered snow. Great crew and pilot Richard who gave a truly skilled and safe, smooth ride.

We had initially booked a heli-ride for fox glacier however we were told a few days before that the flight might not be able to take off as there were only two of us (they require 3 pax to depart). Christina very helpfully suggested to reschedule our activity to the one in Franz Josef where it is more popular with tourists and we were able to get on the heli-ride as intended.Free parking is available near the meetup point.Spectacular views and friendly staff made for a very enjoyable experience. The helicopter ride is a must for all first-timers and those looking to have a bird's eye view of the glacier and snow fields. Will definitely book with them again for future experiences!

Brilliant! The 20min flight with the snow landing was an absolute highlight of our vacation. I would highly recommend. All the staff were incredibly friendly and well-versed in their roles: everything ran so smoothly. We had to pospone one flight because of the weather, and they were helpful to get us booked and very clear on our options.

Was a very enjoyable experience, felt safe the whole time and the snow landing was awesome. The only let down is that we were initially booked to fly Fox Glacier on an afternoon flight, except all flights were cancelled that day due to weather. We did not get informed of this until we went to check in, and if that was the case then there is no reason they couldn't have informed us in advance.

A very friendly and professional staff throughout our experience. Good pre flight communication and briefing.Helpful strapping us all in and getting us ready.Lovely to get a photo taken by the pilot up on the glacier and having it done ready when we returned, money going to him was worth it. Nice touch.Flight was exhilarating, fun and informative. Over all too quickly . Memories made for sure.

What a superb experience with the guys at GHFJ! The flight was awesome with the landing something to experience for all.Our pilot was informative and helped take some lasting memory pictures for us.The whole set up, staff and flight were 5 star all the way!Highly recommended!

What an incredible experience...worth every penny. The flight over both glaciers was breathtaking with a perspective and scenery you could never see any other way. Pilot was really informative and captured a great pic of us on the snow landing.Highly recommend for bucket list experience!

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!! Quite possibly top 3 thing I've done in my life along with getting married and ziplining in a pitch black cave! Y'all were awesome, kind, great at explaining safety! Thank you for getting us on a ride last minute and keeping our safety in mind when you DIDN'T land on the glacier in the rain (I'm too young to die!!!)! Thank you thank you!!!

Oh Wow!! I could not ask for a better pilot than : Simon" This pilot put us in the most beautiful locations and aerial spectacles you could ever imagine!! The Franz Josef Glacier has to be seen from the air to fully appreciate the grandeur and strength of this natural phenomenon! Do yourself a favour
