Phoenix Hair Design

Found this hairdresser's manner lacking - very unpleasant, unfriendly bordering on rude. Plus she over-charged me. Do not recommend.

I've had numerous long hair-ups done over the years but Heather at Phoenix Hair Design trumps all, my hair was done in 45 minutes, looked incredible for the wedding I was attending and was still in the next day in fact the curls stayed put until I washed my hair a few days later, I didn't want to wash it because the curls looked so lovely.Thanks again Olivia John" look alike

I visited this studio for the first time this week and felt quite uncomfortable with my interaction with the owner.After arriving I started explaining that I wanted to change my hair. She cut my sentence saying she was too busy (while the space was totally empty at the time).I was a bit confused but said I understood and asked when she would have a time for an appointment.She start moving towards the computer to check it but than stopped and said she was booked everyday, in every hour, for the next 3 months.I didn't say anything and she continued saying that actually she was not accepting any new costumers, because it's just her on the saloon and she was too busy with her current costumers and it wouldn't work for me to come after the 3 months as well cause than she would be busy again, so I left.Maybe she is actually quite busy but the way she spoke made me feel quite uncomfortable and not wanted as a costumer.

I booked for a blow dry at 2.30pm for a wedding at at 4pm. I was in and out in under 30 mins and my hair fell flat in the following 30mins. Definitely not good value for money. It was at the high end price wise $65 so would not recommend

Very unhelpful phone manner!! Wouldn't recommend any other hairdressers on the island.... Where is the professionalism! :(((

Heather was friendly, helpful, totally professional in styling both my mother and myself for my son’s wedding. Loved Heather’s attention to detail- checking what we’d wanted and ensuring that we were happy with her results. Thanks for making our great day just fab Heather, by ensuring that Grandmother and Mother of the Groom both felt like a million dollars for our special day on Waiheke!

I have been going to this salon for many years and their services are great. Both Heather and Melissa are high end stylists who can do anything from day to day hair cuts to more creative and interesting colour work!I always have to book in advance as they are very very busy! Love your work ladies and thank you for taking care of my locks for all these years.

Believe the hype; Heather is an industry vet, an excellent colorist AND cutter and she has a really good, cruelty free and organic line of products. (Not to mention the amazing view!!) I thought Waiheke didn’t have a good hairdresser, I was so wrong. HIGHLY recommend.
