Excelent service on my land rover discovery from 1999, had some problems with the engine (is a 300TDi) which needed some love. Jan has given me a quotation before the complete engine needed to be rebuild. Didn't take long before the parts were in because of his good connection with his suppliers who assisted with the quotation for the parts.

I needed the cam belt replaced in my VW Polo. Phoned and received a quote. Booked my car in for the replacement two days later. Dropped it in at 8:30am and it was ready to be collected by 10:30am. Price charged was the same as quoted and i have had no issues or concerns with my vehicle in the last 4 weeks since the work was done. Convenience and prompt service were important to me at the time as i needed this work done before starting a new job and had left it to the last minute. I don't usually bother posting reviews however i feel compelled to in this instance as i nearly didn't get the much overdue and needed cam belt replacement done due to the reviews i had read on here after making the booking and no one else being available at the last minute to do it. I was left very satisfied with the service i received from European Car Specialist.

Impressive service from Jan. He resolved all sensor and computer programming issues on my car as well as the DSG service. I will use again without hesitation, he certainly offers an cost effective alternative to the mainstream European car dealerships. Thank you

So I’ve decided to post this because we weren’t the first to have a bad experience with Euro Car Specialists in Pukekohe.First initial contact was over the phone to get a quote for fixing whatever was wrong with my car.My BMW was overheating a lot and the battery light was on so we took it to the closest European Car Mechanic and this was the only one I could find in and around Pukekohe.Jan answered our call and told us to bring the car in to look at what’s wrong and he’d provide us with a quote.Couple of days later Jan called to advise us of the work he had carried out on the car and just a reminder that we only wanted a quote, so I was annoyed at this stage but at the time was just wanting it fixed and it seemed promising at the time.Turned out the BMW required thermostat replacement for the overheating and that we needed to get a new alternator but that wasn’t covered by my mechanical insurance so he gave us our options but we knew that we were about to fork out $1600 for excess fees on multiple claims so we asked him to leave that out and he said he’d call when the car was ready to be collected.Also to add - we had a few other things fixed and replaced but they were small.Day of collection - the total for excess went up from $1600 to $2000 and I’ve forgotten why but I was annoyed. Jan was very kind on this day. Before he handed over my keys he advised me that a second hand alternator had been put in free of charge and I appreciated it so much.However,Just under a week after getting the car back, the faults re-appeared on the screen. It was a fault with the battery. The alternator was cooking the battery or somewhat rather and Jan advised that he had replaced it FOC. The thermostats were replaced but the car has been overheating ever since we got it back but to be fair, this car had overheating issues from the day I picked it up from the car-yard so I’ve had all sorts of trouble with this car but I was hoping Jan could help. Anyway, all the errors reappeared and my partner did call to advise them of it and Jan did tell him to bring the car back in and we did not take it back.

I've personally found Jan and his sons to be professional, no-nonsense accommodating and very knowledgeable.They are always busy which should tell you all you need to know about the service they provide.Will definitely visit again for any work i can't do myself.

Dishonest,Unsafe,Overpriced. Volvo XC90 Work done recently $4k front suspension. Sway bar not attached and was loose. Wheel alignment 'free of charge' was not done at all. Now tyres need replacing due to uneven wear. Despite asking 3 times to have oil feed tube replaced this was forgotten about. After the above I did not trust that this would be done well or without extra cost as was promised.Seemed desperate for full payment over the phone before work had started.Lost my trust, won't be back.

Asked for a quote for a repair, the young guy serving me didn't know, but said his boss (Jan) would call me the next day. He did, at 0800 the following morning and gave me a quote. I went in a couple of weeks later to book a time for the repair with Jan who said if I left the car with him he'd have it fixed the next day. I said I needed to use a car for the day, so he promptly gave me keys to a courtesy car. The following day the car was ready, fixed and the bill matched the quote to the exact cent. Great service, no problems, pleasure to deal with. Will have no problem using these guys again - Cheers!

Jan and Ben did a wonderful job for us, they are very knowledgeable. We thought we had a major transmission problem with our VW but Jan discovered all we needed was a new coil and transmission service. Car runs beautifully now and doesn't lose power uphill, smoother gear changes too! Super fast and friendly service from these guys, we would highly recommend. Thanks!

Really helpful so that I could get my WOF as the person that replaced front brakes didn't realize they needed to order another sensor also.Will definitely be taking my car to get serviced here in future.Thank you very much, much appreciated the friendly atmosphere whilst I waited.Cheers to you all
