City Cycle Hire and Mountain Bike Adventure Co.

We wanted to hire bikes for the day on the ANZAC holiday. The first two places we tried were closed. However, not only were City Cycle Hire going to be open for business, they delivered the bikes to our CBD apartment the night before. Great service.The bikes were good quality. Also supplied, although thankfully not needed, was a pump, a spare tube and a tyre repair kit.Jolanda delivered the bikes and made sure they were the right size and also gave us a cycle map of Christchurch. We cycled the Avon River path oyt to New Brighton, which was great.

Didn't end up booking with them because of logistical reasons on our end, but Jolanda was wonderfully helpful and very patient in fielding all my questions about bike touring in NZ, and overall I had an excellent customer experience.

On a working trip in NZ and spent 2.5 days in Christchurch when I arrived. Decided to hire a bike for 2 days to get around Christchurch, so I wanted an easy 'runaround'. Craig had a trail bike available and delivered it to my accommodation, set it up, provided helmet and cycling map (and useful local knowledge). It was a very nice bike, and turned out to be the perfect way to run around town to get to the university and the central library (for work) while also getting to see some of the sights, and then squeeze in some leisure cycling on the cycle trails. Far better and quicker than faffing around with buses and so I highly recommend hiring a bike while in town. Craig had what i needed, at a very competitive price., quick and efficient and straightforward - one phone call. My one negative was that the saddle was hard for my taste - next time I would ask in advance for a gel saddle. Would definitely use City Cycle again.

We hired bikes from City Cycle on a recent girls weekend. After talking to at least 10 companies we came across Alex who was so helpful and obliging, nothing was a problem. We biked from the city out to New Brighton for lunch and back. Great bikes that were reasonably priced, i hightly recommended this company.

At the last minute we wanted 7 bikes. Alex was very accommodating and provided excellent service, flexible, friendly and efficient. Would use again and highly recommend. A++

Highly recommended. I had a mountain bike for two days which which I used to explore all the amazing cycleways around Christchurch. They delivered the bike to the address I'm staying at and picked it up again at the end of the hire, all included in the price.

We hired two touring bikes for three weeks and they were in bad shape. We even had to fix things our selves along the road, but he didn't want to pay for it.Service was good though, he picked our stuff up from the hostel and brought us back when we arrived back in the city.

We are renting the bikes for 7 weaks and everything went without a problem.The bikes are pretty new and really light, you have 5 panier bags to store your stuff and all the gear is included, so its the perfekt bike for a long tour.The service was perfect, he checked the bikes for us, brought them to our hostel the next day and he stores our stuff that we want to leave in Christchurch.His garage is a bit hidden but he was there to show us where it is.
