Not a bad walk. Tracks can be slippery and structures a bit precarious. Good if you enjoy Pokemon Go, was constantly catching while I was there.

Little bit disappointing as the lake is on a working farm, so wasn’t quite what I was expecting. There are picnic tables by the lake. A couple of different walks - gully walk or lake walk. All the other stuff there made it interesting too. Would like to go back when the swan plants have been planted and the monarchs are there!

This area requires better resources from the council. It would be well worth the money and effort to create a more stable track for walking when wet and planting more native plants throughout the area, especially raupō and flax along any barren banks. Wetlands help to attract and secure our forgotten native treasures like the Moko Mangaeka which is a species of reptile only found in Taranaki between Waitara and Patea. Please ensure to neuter cats which further assists with the rehabilitation of our native reptilian species
