Great - got talking to the lovely woman that was driving the train that day and learned a thing or two about how it works. Half a ton of coal a day is quite a lot eh? I’m the information provided about life during the gold rush is interesting- and makes you value what you’ve got these days. 10% of the population was here and drank 25% of the country’s alcohol!

Fabulous, well beyond expectations and worth entry cost. Spent over 4.5 hours looking at the many exhibits

Kids had an awesome time. Rug up warm (train trip was cold) Don't let the rain stop you just dress appropriately. It was a great excuse to spend time in the cafe for delicious warm lunch. The kids enjoyed the lolly selection. Nana got a thrill receiving the Shantytown frank on her postcard. Lots to explore and learn.

Their gold washing was fun, but the whole experience is only alright, the train ride is supposed to be a highlight but can be crowded and have poor visibility, everything else might not live up the vibe, we got bored rather quickly. I also don’t recommend booking online since it’s the same full price, yet you can easily find discount vouchers around local businesses that can get u up to 20% off.

Cool park with great service but bummer there was no holographic show or dress up costumes available.

Worth a visit! Great experience seeing life as it was in the 1800s and doing a bit of gold panning and stream train riding.

Great place to spend some time. There’s plenty of replica buildings and even a few originals from the area. Information boards everywhere covering the history of the area. Only downside is there is a bit of a lack of shade in some places so make sure to bring a hat. There is a shop in the town street which sells ice creams and sweets which is great on a hot day. 4/5

Pretty awesome. Few attractions closed unfortunately. Yummy scone with jam and cream from the cafe. Truly undrinkable coffee I hate to say though (I joked that I'm glad it was free). Otherwise, a lovely day out.

Nicely set out, with authentic artifacts, the audio speakers weren't working but had great historical information boards to read .
