Epic Adventures Fishing Charters

Our family went on a fishing Charter with Nick, out of Whitianga yesterday 23.2.23, I owe you a cold one Nick. So stoked wirh our catch of Kingi. Nick was a legend knowing what depths to put us on our target species. If you get a chance to go out with Nick he won't disappoint, and such a lovely guy.

Third year doing Epic with Owen aboard Kaos. Great skipper and always puts you on the big ones! highly recommend. Also great with the young guns as well

Totally lived up to their name!We booked a whole boat charter to bag that fish of a lifetime, and captain Owen on Kaos certainly put us on the spot! We caught more liveys than I ever thought you'd need, but boy did we use 'em! Literally first drop and I hooked my dream kingfish going at least 1.5m and over 15kgs, and the action didn't stop after that. Everyone on board hooked at least one monster and we all landed several fish.The boat itself was excellent, very comfortable for our group of 5 to spend a whole day fishing.Captain Owen was a total legend, plenty of jokes and stories but also really knowledgeable, I learnt heaps during the day I'm hoping to apply on our own lesser kingfish when I get back to Coffs Harbour! He really went out of his way to make sure everyone was having fun and catching fish, with some special little touches I won't spoil for you here.Top knotch equipment absolutely suited to the task at hand (not your usual charter fare), and at the end of the day they even helped us to sort out our catch, they have a deal with a local smokehouse so we have a mixture of smoked and fresh filleted kingfish all cryovacced and packed suitably for transport back homeIn short, if you're wanting to get onto a big NZ kingfish in a small or private charter, this is the place to do it. I'm already dreaming of coming back for another go. Can't recommend highly enough!

Wow - what a great day out on the water with Owen on KAOS as a birthday present for my Dad’s 75th. Weather played ball after the recent cyclone - even got a few tuna on the way out to the kingi spots. Will definitely be back - Great work Team Epic!

Liam & Darius were the hosts/boatsmen for our trip, awesome hosts and put us on great spots for an action filled day.We had first time anglers catching fish that some seasoned fishers won't catch in their life-time.Whatever you are looking for; If you are mad keen on fishing/if you have never fished before, or you want to make a birthday/work event different - Epic make it easy, fun and exciting the whole day; This is a bucket list type charter that everyone will remember. Owen was our skipper, he was very knowledgeable, we pulled in some big kingies, Owen was so very helpful. We felt like kings not having to do anything apart from pull the fish in . have recommended to our friends and cant wait to do it again .

This is the best charter all of us have been on. Skipper Owen on Kaos was incredible helping the boys land some good kings and making it a day that we wont forget. Couldnt recommend Owen and Epic charters enough, will be back onboard in the future!

Recently returned from a 5 day fishing trip around Stewart Island. The fishing was an absolute joke. Only caught two types of fish. Blue code, which was like pulling in a wet hessian sack and the occasional Trumpeter. Every day we just fished for these bloody blue code. We only saw one side of the island. Saw no white deer. Caught No Crayfish.If the boat skipper and Epic knew the weather was not going to be on our side we should have been told there and then before we left the wharf. Having flown from Australia i am sure we could have gone up North.Sure Stewart island was an amazing place, but we didn't go there just to sightsee and spend the day hiking to fill in time.No follow up from Epic since we have returned to ask us how our trip went compared to all the other charter operator's we have used over the past ten years. Over all poor experience for me and in the end couldn't wait to get off the boat. L

Brilliant experience. Highly recommended. Owen is a very knowledgeable skipper, who was able to show us serious fishing. We all enjoyed every minute on the boat. Looking forward to come back again on this tour.
