We did the Ulva island by land and sea tour and it was amazing. Ange was so knowledgeable and passionate and was an excellent guide. We got to see so much wildlife and Ange's insight was so valuable.

Beaks & Feathers was recommended to us for the Kiwi Spotting Tour and they did not disappoint! The tour lasts about 1.5 hours and we learned so much about kiwi history and habitats. They are amazing creatures. Saw 2 different “chicks”, one approx 6 months old. After the tour, we were dropped off at our accommodation in town. Highly recommend if you are visiting Stewart Island! Also happened to see the launch of several Starlink satellites…counted 57 but there were probably more…

Ann and I did the kiwi spotting tonight only 2 of us and she still took us was most enjoyable and the host Angela was very knowledgeable and has a great respect for the kiwis on Stewart Island. They came close to us due to Angelas respect for them and us keeping quite. Definitely recommend !!

Well organised. We booked to go Kiwi spotting along the airport runway. It was disappointing as we didn't spot one Kiwi, which was very rare. We were offered a free night the next day to compensate.

We did the Kiwi spotting tour and the Ulva Island tour with Ange, and were blown away by both experiences. We saw 4 kiwis on the spotlighting tour, and so much more on the Ulva Island tour. Seeing the kiwis in the wild was a huge deal for us, and something that we'd wanted to do for a very long time, as was seeing the range of other threatened birds on Ulva Island (which we did see). Ange is a passionate, friendly, professional and highly knowledgeable host and guide, and as people who are botanically inclined, found her knowledge on the flora and fauna, pest animals, and general history of the Stewart Island region first class. There are other guide companies on Stewart Island, but from everything we experienced and heard from people we spoke to who had done tours with others, it would be a mistake if you didn't choose Beaks and Feathers. Thanks Ange.

Really magical experience with an informative and very thoughtful guide. We left it to the last evening on Stewart Island and almost skipped doing it; it seemed like a lot of money for a couple of hours with the family… but after spotting the first kiwi within a few minutes was totally hooked and absolutely no regret! The kids absolutely loved it too. Will be the first thing I do next time we’re lucky enough to be down that way!

The guide was friendly and informative. A comfortable ride to the kiwi spotting location. We spotted three kiwis two of which came very close to us.

What an incredible tour. Where else can you access an airfield at night to see 6 week old kiwi chicks going about their business in the wild? This is the best kiwi experience I have been on. We saw 5-6 kiwi out in the open as they fed. Their welfare was top of the guide's agenda which is always heartening. Ange was passionate and knowledgeable. A must do on Stewart Island.
