Very impressed with Tides Hotel.Cathy was very welcoming and helpful after a very long day travelling.The restaurant was delectable, with creative meals at a fair price.Staff are lovely, and the room was brilliant.Very comfortable bed, air-conditioned, big TV with sky and a spa bath all for $188 per night.Definitely be back.

Fantastic meal…best I’ve had since I can remember. I’d give extra stars if I could considering they managed to deliver such quality of a meal to my room. Shorts ribs were superb.

Tides Hotel Bar & Eatery
One of the best hotels in Nelson for visitors and business. When we have a visiting VIP or client coming this is the place we now recommend. After having some less than positive experiences we settled on here due to the excellent reputation (NZ's top accommodate spot in recent report) but also the great restaurant here that is often listing meals on first table, so has low cost options.

We didn't stay here but we came for a family lunch. 5 of us in total.Waitress was quite obviously new and had alot of trouble taking our order. It wasn't terribly difficult, we just asked to have no Peri Peri mayo on the prawn tacos and no beetroot in the steak sandwich. We thought she had managed to understand our requests but when it arrived the meals included the items we asked to leave off.Rather disappointing.We won't be coming back I'm sorry.

We loved our river side king studio. It was great to see the river come in and out with the tides. We loved the pool area, the dining area, and the guest laundry was just what we needed on our 3 night stay. We liked the quietness but also the happy, good vibe and the signs in corridors encouraging respectful quietness.We'd recommend this place..

Highly recommend accomodation and food. Staff friendly. Bed and spa bath excellent. Great views overlooking the river. Staff on 24/7. Amazing art work and feature walls of wood pigeons. Excellent price for roomsLamb shoulder tender and deserts generious serving sizes.

A bit of a dated hotel but you can't beat the location, the balcony, and the amazing staff. It's within walking distance of everything (Nelson is fairly small), the balcony oversaw the right with countless fowls - it was very serene - and the staff was amazing and above and beyond, giving us great recommendations that greatly enhanced our vacation (including going to see the pancakes rocks in Punakaiki, which we would have completely missed without their instance!).

Great hotel great find. Good location, rooms spacious well decorated and clean. Bar and restaurant food good. Staff friendly and appear to have had some good guidance by management.Very well priced and will definitely be back on a regular basis.
