First time visiting and have to say the owner and staff were friendly. The food was delicious and coffee was great. Very inviting and we will be back.

Really cool cafe with german food. We had pretzels with a cheese platter, waffles, cheese cake and a cappuccino. Everything was really delicious and it tasted really like german food. The pretzels are the softer ones but really yummy. The owners and the staff were also very friendly. You can also buy different kind of sausages, cheese and imported food.

What a great place. Popped in whilst visiting family in Christchurch and got some cured meats and cheese. Tried the smoked garlic sausage and Cabajka Hungarian sausage - both absolutely delicious! It's a shame they didn't have any smoked pork belly, as I'd love to have tried that too.

Being Eurosnob foodies, this place caught our eye when we were needing lunch. I felt like we caught them on an off day and would be willing to give them another try. They were out of German potato salad, so my schnitzel came with cold mashed potatoes. It was a bit tough, not off-puttingly so, but in need to being served with a proper steak knife and more lemon than the one measly slice provided. My partner had the corned beef sandwich, which was generously proportioned and included some nice gherkin slices.Just adding a further comment for Blanka, since I can't seem to respond directly:Thanks for that and as I said, I would give Cafe Berlin another try next time I'm in Christchurch. My husband and I are very Covid conscious so we ate at your outside table. I guess I couldn't be bothered to re-mask and go back inside to mention my complaints. Perhaps you should get in the habit of checking in partway through the meal?
