About the Business

Home - Karori Golf Club | The course is set in an idyllic country location surrounded by native bush clad hills where only sounds you hear are birds and farm animals. The fairways are tree lined and there are two stony streams that meander across or beside all but four holes. The course rewards accuracy off the tee and several holes play to elevated greens making otherwise straightforward approaches more challenging. The greens are some of the best browntop putting surfaces around. .

Had been described to me as a 'goat track' in the past but I thought it was great.Quite a drive for us from Lower Hutt but worth it. Course was nice and quiet a few days before Christmas and in good condition - although the greens a little slow. Looked like they were about to get the chop that day though.Club house wasn't manned but there are instructions on how to pay green fees of $30 (affiliate) online.

I really enjoyed my time playing Karori golf course on Sunday. The people were very friendly as well . So I would definitely keen to go back and play there with my son and his mates .

I think this course is ok and you largely get what you pay for but as a first timer playing I was really unsure of the yardage due to no cell reception and very few markers (some holes none at all). Friendly people at the clubhouse but take your range finder!

Awesome day at Karori Golf Club today. Such a nice relaxing place. Course is in great nick, plenty of refreshments in the clubhouse after the round .

The course is excellent, parking and club house the same.If you’re thinking of going to the course in a motorhome, it’s narrow tight drive, personally, I would not do it again.(They don’t allow park overs anymore)

Great course and good value for money. Was a windy day when we played, which made a tricky course even more challenging!

I have played Karori three times on this trip to New Zealand and hope to get at least one more round in before I head back to the UK. This is a lovely country course, not long but hilly and with lots of trees so challenging enough for even an experienced golfer. The course is beautiful, surrounded by hills which, on one side, are covered in native bush. They recently released some kiwis into the bush which gives you an idea how remote this course is. Karori itself is a suburb of Wellington but the course is a good drive from civilisation on the road to Makara. Believe me it is worth the trip. Not only is the course a pleasure, there is a lovely clubhouse with friendly, welcoming staff.

Great course that is under used - probably because the road through Makara scares timid drivers.

Worst experience I have had at a golf club. The course might be OK, but the service sure wasn't. We arrived to play (at scheduled and booked tee time) and a rather abrupt and rude young fella tells me the course is closed for a tournament and we can't play. I said sorry mate but I booked a tee time over the phone with Robyn for 4 people and have driven 40 minutes from Lower Hutt to get here. He gets Robyn to come over and she repeats the same thing, telling me they made a mistake and that they shouldn't have taken a booking and the course is closed? All I can offer you is a complimentary round for another time" she says. Well sorry but that doesn't make up for the lost fuel cost

Played today. Course is a little damp in places but was great to play. Carried my clubs so it was brilliant exercise. The sun was lovely and there is something magical with the wind turbine backdrop.Talked to a couple of very friendly locals. Will play again soon.
