Cosy Cottage Thermal Holiday Park

Quaint little park with hot spring baths. Large kitchen, hot showers, quiet yet busy. Close to the city Center, great suggestions from the hotel admin for places to visit and eat. Be mindful of lights on at night as there are crazy amounts of midges!

We loved it, the hot pools have a good temperature for everyone with 3 different ones. Showers are lovely warm and hairdryer provided. The big pool i a little dated but it changes nothing. Cooked some dinner in the natural hot oven and it was amazing and so easy. Sweet playground for kids too, close to restaurants and a cool playground. We all enjoyed with 3 little kids and would definitely come back.

Really good prices and emplacement (just near the lake). From this place you can go to the city really quickly. The bedroom was nice and clean. The people were welcoming. They even speak a little bit french.

Sorry in advance - it's a bit of a rant.We haven’t stayed here. This is about a booking for March 2023.I don't normally write about bad service. This is only the second time I have done so and only after trying to fix the problem dealing with the place directly, but because they are unwilling to engage, I have put this review out. I have asked outright for them to acknowledge my emails but they are remaining silent.Booked (8th Feb) to stay here for one night on our way to visit friends at Mahia Peninsula, Hawkes Bay Area. Since the booking the cyclone and flooding have happened so we had to cancel (17th Feb) our trip to the north island, as the primary reason for the trip was to stay at Mahia with friends. We just threw a night in Wellington and Rotorua in on the way. Cosy cottage did not refund any of the money saying it was less than 30 days notice. How can I give 30 days notice when I only booked this 9 days before I had to cancel and March is not peak season. I cancelled giving them 20 days notice. I know storms etc are not their fault and was happy with the $25 cancellation fee thinking that was what the deal was, but NO they kept $160! They seem to only answer emails after 10.30 at night which makes me think they don't want to deal with it. I have asked if they aren't willing to refund the money, can they at least reinstate the booking... this is so I can gift a night to a couple who have had a hard time with the cyclone and flooding. Someone may as well have a night away. I find Cosy cottages behaviour GREEDY. Everyone else was understanding and kept their refund policy's reasonable. I don't care if this is a nice place or not. I won't be rebooking to find out. I will be telling friends, family, colleagues etc NOT to book with cosy cottage, there are A LOT of other places to spend their money.

This site is about 15mins walk from the centre of Rotorua's sulphur smelling Town centre and has several of its own geothermal attractions. The campsite facilities are very basic though, with very little equipment in the kitchen and old, tatty and uninviting toilets and showers. There is an unlimited supply of hot water in the showers, which is nice. There is an issue with flies coming from the lake and we were bitten in our van during the evening. The free wifi provides only 300mb after which you have to pay. We stayed one night having booked online and would not return to or recommend this site.

I don’t recommend this place and I had very bad experience with it. I booked 2 days stay and supposed to stay in Feb however my father in law had heart attack just 3 days before my date. So I have to cancel my booking and asked if we can reschedule a date. The property only agree me to rebook for weekdays and has to be in Feb. It is the first time that I experienced the property manager is so hard to communicate and just very bad feeling. My wife late rang the manager and she said the manager agreed to rebook in March. When I wrote email to property to tell them the date in 1st of March. The property manager said he never agreed to reschedule to March. How could he say that so easily and I will never stay this place.

We used 3times.Summer once, autumn twice.We love this tent site, It's well-maintained and beautiful whenever we come.And also nice hot spa pool.Definitely we will come back next opportunity to come Rotorua.

We stayed in a two bed apartment in January. I had advised reception that only one window opened with a security latch and it wasn’t ok as being out all day and coming home the rooms were so hot and only one fan in the lounge that didn’t move and couldn’t open windows due to the lake flies. I requested another fan. They didn’t have one for me then told me I should leave windows wide open - I said and if my gear was stolen who was responsible? I was not happy. I tried to get in contact with the manager and they have not got in touch with me!!! It’s been 3 weeks. Useless and all I wanted was some sort of credit as I paid for a room that should be fully functioning at that price but we didn’t get it. Terrible customer service here!!!! Do not recommendYou did not get get me a fan when I asked for one then the next day you told me you were going to leave one but decided it wasn’t warm enough so didn’t leave it out for me. I am not leaving windows open all day - I have no idea who is around the motel and may want to jump in a window and see what a in my bags! Usually you can leave a window open when you are in a room and not feel like someone will come in. Didn’t feel safe and once home at night was when you can t open windows due to like flies!! All other rooms had security latches - I looked! Your customer service is terrible! ASimple apology would have been nice!

We had a good powered site next to the stream. Pavers or concrete under your camper tyres work well. Be careful check their web site as the can't take large campers. The hot pools were shallow but perfect after a day of mountain biking.

We booked a “tent site” but arrived to our space not available. We were squashed into a small “site” which was not marked and not numbered. It was in the corner of the camp. It’s supposed to fit 4 tents but clearly only 3 can fit, all of those being single tents. We went to reception and they told us they couldn’t help and we were welcome to sleep in the car park. So we had to sleep in our car in the car park instead of being able to set up our tent. There was no privacy in the carpark and people were walking right past our car all morning (like 1-2 metres away). Really not impressed that we did not even receive any type of partial refund at all and that nothing was done. Super disappointing because the facilities seemed like they would’ve been nice.
