Prodigal Daughter is a very welcoming place for couples and families alike. Located in a very peaceful area, it offers cosy accommodations : we were proposed in the main house 3 nicely furnished bedrooms which are decorated with great taste in different styles along their respective names, France, Italy, Morocco. In the adjacent garden, 2 modern lodges can be used independently.Rachel is a truly wonderful host, and of course all meals are a treat. We did not take cuisine lessons, but really enjoyed our time there...

Absolutely lovely place go stay. Beautiful continental breakfast in the morning. Lovely bed, self-contained cottage in a beautiful garden. Host of establishment was so generous, coming to give us some freshly baked foccacia. Highly recommend for those looking for a rustic, relaxing experience.

My friend and I were visiting the region. We were staying in Greytown but I’d read about Rachel in Travel Stuff so emailed her to ask if it was essential for us to be staying at her house to be a party to dinner? Rachel responded by saying we could join two other couples for dinner. We had no idea what to expect other than what had been written.Rachel has such charisma and warmth and was so welcoming, as is her co host a sweet little miniature, three legged foxy called Mia. Also (and I can’t recall her name) a lovely woman serving at the table. Slightly ditsy and such fun! She was a wonderful icebreaker as there was actually a total of four couples plus my friend and I. All relative strangers. She made us laugh as she wasn’t what you’d called your traditional serving person. So helpful though. The meal was four courses all beautifully presented followed by an explanation of the original region of each dish plus where the produce came from. Absolutely delicious. Conversation flowed and I eventually had to drag my friend Louise away who was in deep conversation with one of the guests. This is a wonderful experience and introduction to Martinborough hospitality. A little different. We can highly recommend.Rachel, we just loved the whole experience and thank you. We’d be there again in a heartbeat,

Wow! Who needs overseas trips when this is on your doorstep? Go local! Charming host and highly qualified chef Rachel offers in-house dining which helped with our rest and recreation weekend away. We had freshly plucked garden salad, followed by the most amazing crayfish and pasta dish. Then pannecotta with wild blackberries. Heavenly. Then to our fabulously comfortable bed in The French Room" with our own en suite. And Rachel knows all the local activities and can arrange trips for you on request. Thank you

Thank you Rachel we had a fabulous weekend. It was great to meet you and learn about olive oil, pasta making and wine. The bed was comfortable, the food amazing and you thought about all our needs. Thank you so much

I was in Martinborough a few weeks ago on business. A friend said they had stayed at this place and enjoyed the ambience, convenience and food so I tried it.Great bed (always important as I travel a lot), walking distance of the town centre and the coffee at breakfast was a bonus - a real espresso machine! On the first night I didn't have a dinner reservation so I walked into town and found somewhere to eat but I did eat there on my second night. Rachel, the owner, is a chef with considerable European experience and she put together a wonderful three course meal.Definitely requires a return visit for a short break.

Had a fantastic stay here. The room (we had the Italy room) was beautiful and comfortable (although a little small esp the bathroom), the location is fantastic in central martinborough (can walk to the centre) and the icing on the cake was the fantastic host Rachel and Mia her faithful three legged friend! We did a cooking course (was fun, esp if you love pasta!) and 4 course meal with matched wines which whilst a bit pricey was really delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Rachel and 'Mia' were very welcoming hosts. The fire, red wine, company, and cheese platter were first class, and I went back three times for the home made crabapple jelly :)

We had a wonderful stay. Our self contained cottage at the rear of the garden was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Rachel was a welcoming host, great company and appears to have many talents including making delicious Foccaccia bread. An easy stroll into the square , we would highly recommend staying at The Prodigal Daughter and would love to visit again.

A truly comfortable, welcoming stay. Rachel, and her lovely ‘Pinot Cottage’ was our calm in the storm after a long, eventful day. We immediately felt relaxed and at home. We loved having communal breakfast each morning with other guests with unique home baked goods from Rachel each morning (date & banana scones were a highlight). Rachel is the perfect hostess whilst her trusty three-legged sidekick Mia can’t fail to make anyone smile. ‘Pinot Cottage’ was a self-contained modern one-bedroom apartment separate to the main house with your own bathroom and everything you could need for a short stay. It’s a short walk into Martinborough centre so really well located. Would highly recommend! Our only regret is that we didn’t have the opportunity to sample Rachel’s evening meal.
