It is the best way to see some magnificent parts of Christchurch city. I recommend taking a ride during mid October or April/May time. The city is decorated Naturally by various flora and the tram covers it all.

An excellent introduction to the city. We decided to do this for the interest of travelling on lovely vintage trams but what made it really worthwhile was the great commentary from the drivers. There were three different trams running and each driver had different stories to tell about the city, even when travelling along the same sections. This made it worthwhile travelling with them all, as well as getting to see each of the trams as they are all different. Not cheap at $35 for a day but definitely worth it

The day pass for the tram ride is a great way to get a quick overview (50 minutes) of the city, after which you can get on and off at the different areas that you’d like to spend more time in, since you can hop on and off as many times as you’d like through the day. Love the humour and wittiness of the commentary. At $35, it’s not cheap, but I think it’s worth it for the experience.

Friend and I tossed up wondering if it was worth getting on this tram since it was so touristy. But we were tourists so we hopped on since there was hardly anything else to do in Christchurch. Glad we did. We had a really funny tram driver and a very helpful and kind assistant who helped us with directions later to get to the gondola.The trip itself was a great way to learn about Christchurch and how it’s being rebuilt. The tram itself is old but works a charm. The driver had us laughing the whole time. It’s worth hopping on this bad boy to see the city. Takes you to the important spots.

Great to hear about Christchurch from the locals. Each of the drivers has their own perspective which adds to the fun. Make the most of it and hop on and off all day, there's heaps to explore!

It’s a pity the trams are not in active service in many cities now. Just travelling in the Christchurch tram felt like so much fun, they must have been more so when in active service. Anyway, we took the full round once nonstop, just for the commentary which was entertaining and well delivered. We continued then to get off and back on at some of the stops. The trams also look well maintained. And it was fun meeting “New Zealand’s official wizard” :-)

Took the tram today, first time after earthquakes. Driver/guide provides interesting commentary as you go past the city and staff will also direct you to best stop to take for various attractions in the city. Use it to have a hop-on hop-off experience. A lovely way to take in the city of Christchurch - particularly delightful was the street art and murals.

Must do if you are in Christchurch. Ticket valid all day. Tram starts 9.50 and goes until 5 pm. 3 trams were operating, and we were able to hop in and off any of them. Commentary from the tram drivers were excellent!

Great way to hop on and hop off to see some of the city center sights of Christchurch. The restored historical trams with different colors are used in the tram loop. Adult ticket is NZ$30.00 for the day use around the tram circuit. Enjoyed the information narrated during the tram trip .

The trams are pretty, it's a novelty, and it's an easy way to see different parts of the city, but the narration could do with some improvement.The driver pointed out a few main points, but it was mostly about where to eat and a few landmarks. It would have been better if there'd been a more detailed history of the city provided, and of course how the quake had affected it.Personally I think it's a little bit pricey for what it is, so if recommend trying to find a discount deal if you can.
