DRD Builders

We've used DRD a few times now (including for a large deck, and for garage alterations,) and their work has always been high standard. They have a real commitment to quality. Will be very happy to use again.

DRD have just finished a marathon job for us of remediating a leaky building made up of three units. We were devastated to find that our building (which we had owned since it was built in 2002) was not at all weathertight and had widespread rot in the framing and significant errors in the original construction which made fixing it a complex and onerous task. The extent of the problems made it necessary to have it redesigned, re-consented, and the remediation supervised by a building surveyor. DRD put us in contact with a design firm and a building surveyor and quoted for and then managed the rebuild. Throughout it all they kept in touch, replied swiftly to emails, questions, and concerns, had regular meetings with the owners, and managed their subcontractors superbly (all through the worst of the second Covid wave). This was a long and challenging job, but I honestly cannot imagine that anyone could have done it better than the DRD staff. The chain of command was expertly managed and everyone from the owners through the project manager and foreman to the apprentices was focused and intent on getting the job finished to the highest standards possible. They achieved this, and we recommend them unreservedly.

We have recently finished a large renovation of the entire ground floor of our house and I could not recommend DRD enough. This was a complete rebuild and refit. The team of Tim H, Harry and Tim F were always on time, helpful and communicative. They did what they said they would do and they made the renovation process as stress free as possible. They worked through supply shortages to get us what was needed in advance.They even stepped up and managed a few of our subcontractors for us which was really going above and beyond as it was outside their remit.The team was also really great as we lived onsite (with a baby) throughout the project and they did lovely helpful things like stopping loud noises when we were entering and leaving the house.The work has been completed to a very high standard and getting our code of compliance felt easy!Would highly recommend

We have recently finished up a major renovation at our villa, using the services of DRD. Heading into this project we were a bit nervous as friends had told of issues with building and renos, however we didn't need to worry. DRD were so professional, on time and amazing to work with from start to finish. We felt comfortable the whole way through the process and could not be happier with the results. There is not a single thing we are unhappy with. Brendan and Liam were incredible and nothing was too much trouble for them - in fact we absolutely loved having them around and life feels a bit strange without seeing them daily now. They were always on time, courteous and made it all very stress free (especially with four animals around, and owners still living in the home during the renos). Jesse and Tim had incredible communication and kept us very in the loop with billing etc. Would absolutely use DRD again, and would recommend to anyone wanting a professional service and a job well done.

DRD Builders Limited, used interchangeably with DRD Builders and DRD, and having the same directors, went into liquidation in October 2021 (as detailed on the Companies Office Companies Register website). We engaged DRD Builders Limited to build a new home for our family. However, they did not complete the project, and we are owed money by them. Their communications, administration, time management, financial management, compliance, collaboration, customer service, and project management skills are poor. We do not recommend using DRD Builders

DRD undertook a large reno on our Petone villa. They were recommended by our architect based on their quality workmanship and attention to detail, especially on older houses like ours. Wayne and the team were fantastic- battling through COVID, gib shortages and other challenges to deliver an end result we love! Jesse and Tim were super helpful in helping us plan for and realise our dream and we would recommend DRD to anyone who wants a quality outcome.

When we started the demolition of an elderly house and the complete re-build over 2 years ago we could not have anticipated the potential effects that Covid may have on the build itself or the building industry. But regardless and throughout, DRD proved themselves to be an efficient, effective, skilled and resourceful team. Regardless of the extra challenges that building an extension to a fully operational , 24/7 animal shelter posed, Hadleigh, Jesse and Tim ( along with Joe , Dylan and the other crew members) were totally reliable and their excellent communication made this complex build a positive experience. As clients we felt that our needs were heard, considered, discussed and actioned without difficulty ...and this continued with every tradesperson they sub contracted to. Our 3 story new build is something which we are extremely proud of and we at Cats Protection Wellington have no hesitation in recommending DRD.

We were beyond happy with DRD's work and professionalism throughout the 6 months of our renovations. They were on time, worked within our budget, polite (we were still living in the house during the reno's) and great communicators, we look forward to using them again for our next project.

Our building project, just ended, has spanned three years, and included 12 months on-site construction work by DRD Builders. How satisfying it is to know that we made sound choices when selecting DRD. We benefited from and enjoyed effective working relationships with all DRD staff. Those relationships were built upon integrity, trust, honesty, accountability and skill. We're very satisfied clients.
