Stayed in triple room with my kids. Room was relatively clean but it was only on the surface. Carpet was damp and slightly sticky, window sill was filthy. There were only 2 toilets and 2 showers per floor of 30 rooms! They were communal. My biggest issue was cleanliness of showers. There was garbage in the stalls and they felt dirty. Kitchen was reasonably clean but again only on the surface. We watched the communal areas be vacuumed but nothing was wiped down. Food that was dropped on the tables in the morning was still there in the evening.

Short stay however we didn't know that the kitchen and lounge area will only open from 7AM and we have to use it before that due to early morning flight. Would be nice to know beforehand for me to plan ahead. It is pretty close to the city and short walk is good. Security is good but would be nice if the corridors are well lighted and not smelly. Thats all!

The place looks really run down, its kinda more a crack house then a hostel:)We payed around 160$ for the room (2 nights), even the half would be to high.I think with a bit work and money you can made a great place out of it.The rooms and floor has a weird smell and everywhere it looks dirty. The showers, toilets, rooms, the walls, the roof its really everything. But the location is great, for that 5 stars, but the rest, sorry I couldn’t give more then 1 Star.Coupon parking is possible direct behind the Fuel Station, close to the hotel.Weekend is free and during the week day from 08:00 - 06:00pm you have to pay.The first 2 hours are free of charge.Hostel provides also free parking, if you ask in time.

Truly the worst place in wellington, is to much expensive for the place that it is , is falling a part, the owners don’t care about the place, is all dirty , the toilets are disgusting , the kitchen , anywhere you go . The clean guy doesn’t clean at all , and at least 80% of the people who live there as dirty and disgusting , they leave everything dirty , they don’t wash their dishes , and the fake your food , your things from the fridge and the owners They don’t even look to try to find who steal your stuff .Im telling you , avoid this place , is just horrible !

It's not clean, but honestly, it's cheap, the people staying there are nice - and it's not as bad as many of the other views suggest. In some ways I like it more than Nomads, in other ways it's slightly worse. The smell is a little disconcerting in the hallways and the floor is wet in places for no reasons, the elevator is out of order, many toilets are out of order - but still it's got a rustic charm. If a new owner could give it a bit of a spruse up it could be really nice, but that would take some money I guess. So for a cheap stay, If you can get in a 4 bed dorm for around 10 euros on booking.com - it's worth it. There's a chance your dorm won't be full and then you'll get a fairly restful sleep.

There is nothing nice about this place. Our room was really small, but at least it was clean. The staff isn't that nice. There were so many people and you could definitely see that when you had to use the kitchen that was ALWAYS dirty (same as the dining table) and you couldn't even find the things you needed to use to cook. You can't see the temperature of any oven or the functions, you just need to hope you won't burn your food. The fridges are so full you can't put anything else inside. The sofas in the shared room are destroyed (you can see the inside). The bathrooms in the morning are kinda clean, but then, after few hours they already have a have a terrible smell. Just the showers are nice and the there is a lot of warm water. You just have 30 minutes of WiFi free and then you need to pay. You also need to pay for the parking space that is so small. It's also quiet there, but I mean if you just need to sleep there then it's okay. The hostel is really close to the city centre.

Firstly: Parking is a nightmare. Don't drive in with van unless good skills to reverse out of small spaces. Hostel not as bad as we expected based on previous reviews. Paid $106 for small twin room. Room is old but was just clean enough. Staff at the reception was nice and kitchen okay. Have seen worse hostels. Bathrooms definitely need renovations. Shower pressure and temperature is decent but ventilation is terrible. I am not bothered by unisex bathrooms but I understand if someone finds it uncomfortable. Location of the hostel is very convenient, which deserves 5/5. Overall the hostel has potential to improve. For 2 nights ok though.

Absolutely terrible. Don’t bother staying here at all, it was bearable a few years ago when I last stayed due to good people. Now it’s more rundown than ever and a lot of questionable characters. Some of the staff are generally rude and unhelpful, old guy with the beard especially. Generally run down. Dirty, smells, beds are in comfy.Just don’t bother - 0 stars isn’t an option

Not worth it. The price is cheap and we're used to not living in a palace but it wasn't ok. To give an idea, there was no shower head in the shower! Plus, all the guests are long-termers almost no backpackers, everyone is just staring at you and you're meeting not only kind people.

Very cheap and value for money considering the price, so don't expect anything from this super old hostel. Blew my mind this ancient elevator still works
