So happy we have chap fan that's typical of what you get in Malaysia here. Good value, good taste with a great variety of dishes. Will go again. $17.50 for 3 veg, 1 meat. Free soup too.

Really, really good. Authentic flavours and so typical of a neighbourhood food stall anywhere in Malaysia. Everyone should eat at Jalan Alor. Great food, friendly staff and in a great location - close to the route 66 bus service (bus services every 15 minutes) and with plenty of parking for those arriving by car.

Food are tasty but compared to a nearby Taiwanese restaurant serving same style the price here is way too high.$15-$16 would be reasonable

I usually don't leave reviews much in general unless I feel they are overhyped so here goes:I personally never liked mixed rice but gave this place a go cause it was recommended by many online - including my sister who went there few weeks ago and said food was good and portion was big enough for 2Mixed rice:I like the steam egg the most, followed by the bean curb, fried pork and lastly french beans (or whatever it was) - steam egg was nice and soft, bean curb has the herb taste, fried pork has the taste but was a little moist, and vege too much chilli taste and didn't like it: overall they were all a bit salty for my likingPortion wise, I thought it was ok until I saw the pictures here..mine had a lot of rice but the dishes were half of what I compared from the pictures in other reviews- i guess the portion of dishes would depend on who is serving you- free soup was a nice touchChar kuey teow:Presentation was good, portion not that big..however most disappointing was it had no taste - my family members agreed and wanted to ask for some soy sauce but I stopped them..we did not finish it and took it back for my brother to taste and he agreed he could only taste the taugeh and kuey teowI believe this was because the main chef was not around and the younger chef doesn't look Malaysian (I may be wrong), so food quality was definitely compromised- of course there is room for improvement with better experience and trainingPrice wise I think it is on the higher side due to the location but they are all about the same in that areaWill I come back again?Yes to try other dishes to give them another go - only if the main chef is thereWill I have any expectations? No to avoid any further disappointmentsWould I recommend? All I can say is never listen to others, try it yourself cause everyone's taste buds have different expectations

Absolutely brilliant food and very, very, very cost effective.... I cant fault it at all.Definitely really authentic food here and i appreciate the nod to traditional nasi kandar stalls across Malaysia.Absolutely and totally recommend.

I generally think the place is over hyped given that by 7pm, the food is no longer fresh (with little options available). Most cooked food are at the range between $18-22, I generally think there are better choice else where.I went based on someone's recommendation, left with disappointment and won't be returning, as it is not value for money.

We just came today for lunch. There are a wide variety of food, the taste is very Malaysia Chinese style, we loved it. The signature is Char Kway Teo which is made to order and I don't see any difference with the Singapore/Malaysia version (there is no cockle obviously). There are hot tea and soup for self service, staff is so friendly that you feel welcome. There are chendol and Rojak too, but I didn't have a chance to try yet. Will come back!

Like a warm hug on a rainy day, instant memories of cai fan Makan stalls or mum's tau yu bak - comfort food at it's best.
