We loved it! Great food, the cheese, bacon and onion pierogis were bloomin’ amazing. The choice of wines that are all the same price were great - choices from Spain and Italy as well as Aussie and NZ.The owner is a character and is great to have a chat to. This place is a great restaurant and we will definitely be back next time we are in Hanmer.

This was one of the most amazing meals I have ever eaten. If I could award six or more stars, I would. Dumplings with a combination of salad and pickle sides, exquisite and beautifully presented.The ambiance and atmosphere were lovely but the food... just wow.Advance bookings are essential on Fri/Sat nights.

Visited MK on the recommendation of the Hanmer Springs hairdresser. Oh my goodness we were blown away with the outstanding meals and amazing personal service. A simple to understand menu and exquisite presentation topped off the incredible flavours in both of our meals. The dessert was particularly spectacular!

Absolutely amazing food and THE BEST hosts. 1000/10 we will be coming back! My girls and I had such a great night here. We ordered almost everything on the menu to share and desserts too. Could not believe how fantastic everything was.

This is our second visit to this fantastic restaurant and again it was absolutely on point. The chef and his team works extremely hard to provide every customer with excellent food and excellent service. He is very humble and extremely knowledgeable about food. Every plate so flavourful and well presented. He spent quality time with our table and many others sharing his passion. I'm also a chef and would consider this restaurant one of the best in New Zealand as they exceed expectations not just in the food but the whole dining experience. My partner and I could have stayed longer to discuss our passion of food with him the whole evening. 10 out of 10 well done chef. We will be back down from Nelson as soon as.

Love love love this place! From the moment we walked in we received the warmest, friendliest service, the food was amazing and even though the waiter was busy he made time to share his opinion on the best dumplings at my hubby's request. Food was sooo good, so much flavour but not too much and a delicious glass of well priced wine to go with.Don't miss dessert!!!!Would definitely come back and will recommend to anyone heading to Hanmer Springs!!!

Wow, what an absolutley amazing experience. The food was spectacular, the presentation, the taste, the textures! The personal service was also outstanding. MK Restaurant should be on everyone's must do list when visiting Hanmer Springs. I was there with a group of 16 and everyone was raving about the experience, simply next level. Bravo!!

Absolutely blown away by the food & hospitality at this place! Highly recommend. Was a stunning culinary experience. Just travelling through but wish it was one of our locals, would definitely go back. We did dinner and dessert (& wine)
