Once was enough - a fabulous experience once!!! Cycling the Dunstan Trail was more challenging than I thought it would be .. hairpin turns were wicked. Probably it was scary for me for these reasons:1) I’d never ever ridden trails as close to ‘the edge’ as these - on the left side nearest the drop off.2) It was my first time on an E-bike3) The narrow trail/path with loose gravel was new to me - I am used to bike trails or country side roads in Canada.It took me until the last third of the trail I began to feel comfortable shifting the gears on the right handle bar as well as the E-speed on the left. Thankfully I opted for an E-bike… it would have been impossible for me to ride on a regular bike! Not so for the younger stronger set!All that said, I am thrilled to have done the Dunstan - a miracle with tremendous long lasting memories!!’ Stunning vistas with stops along the way up and down with equal challenge ability!Thank you for making the trip possible. Hired some Ebikes to do the Otago Rail Trail over 3 days and was very disappointed especially after hearing and seeing all the great reviews. One of the Ebikes we were given had a bad life cycle dying with about 1.5kms left riding on the eco and norm settings (two lowest). The second and third day was set on eco for the entirety of the day trying to conserve battery and it still died with 7km left. Safe to say this ruined our whole trip as we hired Ebikes for the comfort and efficiency - and ended up adding an unforeseen labour intensive and stressful element during the day taking away from the stunning sights the trail has to offer. After complaining to the Omakau reception staff and relevant mobile contacts, still nothing has been done in terms of compensation or rectifying the situation! We’re sad to say we were highly disappointed with the service all around and would not recommend the company just on the off chance of this situation happening again.

Well organised and great communication. We did the golden express trail which dropped us in Oturehua and then it was a nice mostly downhill cycle back of around 30km. Cool tunnels on the route

Great experience. Very convenient location to the best part of the trail for a day ride. Friendly and competent crew. Equipment all in excellent order: our youngest (8) loved having an e-bike to zip along. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience with shebikeshebikes - the 3 day rail trail was perfect for me . Travelling alone I met lovely people every step of the way. Fabulous accommodation esp behindthebikesheds!!

We enjoyed bikes which were in good condition. Also got good advices here regarding trail.

Hired an E bike for my lovely wife to do a portion of the rail trail. Really easy to deal with, plenty of information. They even have an after hours return option. Nice bike that was well maintained. No chance of keeping up with her on my 'normal' bike. Perfect way to see the rail trail.
