Very disappointed on their ability to assess, review & report and convey with the business concerned.From their website... Qualmark provides evidence that your business has been independently validated as a quality tourism business. It provides instant recognition for customers that your business will deliver a quality experience.Maybe Qualmark needs to be validated?

We stayed at Karaka Motel, Taupo, on Thursday 17 July for one night on Flybuys.The motel unit number 15 was substandard and definitely not a 4 star as rated by qualmark. I base my comment on the following:The spa area had a mouldy ceiling and cracked paint around the wall edges.The bathroom had a big stain on the floor and again cracked paint by the shower. The heater was not effective enough and had dust hanging below it.The electric blanket plug was cracked where it plugged into the wall.We were looking forward to our night in Taupo but it was spoiled by the poor quality of the unit. We should have complained at the time but we did not.I would not like to think that Flybuy customers are given a poorer standard of room. After all, the motel took 600 of our flybuys points. We will not be staying at Karaka motel again and if asked will be honest about the poor standard encountered.Bridget Hodgkinson

Our stay at your Qualmark rated Bella Vista Motel, Greymouth, was perhaps my worst motel experience ever. After a long drive down New Zealand's beautiful west coast in rainy, windy weather, we were given a grungy, foul smelling room with stained chairs and marked-up walls. Not very welcoming. Worse, a few hours later we returned from dinner, got settled and then a knock on the door. The landlady told us we had to move rooms. My partner, arm in cast from freshly broken wrist was just settling into bed. I questioned why we should move and the owner went 'ballistic' insisting it was our fault! We should have known that it wasn't the correct room. What??? Gave us an hour and said she was going to get her husband to sort us out! Wow! We moved.Otherwise, New Zealand is full of the nicest, kindest and most laid-back people on earth. Go there, just stay away from the Greymouth Bella Vista.

The Great Ponsonby has enjoyed being a Qualmark accredited accommodation provider for eleven years .Qualmark has provided many things for our business not least with the regular assessments that help us maintain our standards.Over time they have become more helpful for new businesses and those thinking of starting a business should make Qualmark their first port of call. It is better to find out what is needed before spending money.Similarly, if a guest stays in a non Qualmarked property they cannot grizzle if it is not up to scratch.The Great Ponsonby Arthotel takes pride in our star grading and more importantly our environmental certification.

Apollo Motorhomes Holidays is qualmark endorsed but I have had an appalling experience with them. A glance at the Apollo google reviews for Auckland branch says it all.
