My son died suddenly and these ones were the ones who picked him up.We chose not to go with these guys for a number of reasons but the biggest shock was how much they wanted up front, right, then and there.No compassion for a sudden death. Could not tell me the exact location of where they had picked my son up from, she said she would need to ask.That information should have already been available, considering i had made a time that morning to come in.No caskets on site to choose from.Everything they have is in paper form onl, that they expect you to choose from.Needed to source a wooden cross if we wanted one.Went to another local funeral home who had everything sorted pretty much straight away with caskets and wooden crosses available in stock with a much lower pricePoor service, on top of dealing with a sudden death

My son died by suicide - a shocking reality for our family. At the time I was in a mess and didn't know where to start in dealing with a funeral for my beloved son. Our family had used Gee & Hickton a couple of times due to family deaths and they were fantastic, so we used them again for my son. Honestly, without the amazing service, care and love of Gee & Hickton, particularly from Jenna, I don't know how we would have gone through the service. During Covid in particular, it was a logistical nightmare, but they made it work. The time frame, on the day, was tricky because I there were so many tributes for my son, but they made it work. The delay, caused by all our tributes, affected the timing at the Crematorium, but they made it work. We had people around the world who couldn't fly in, because of Covid - once again Gee & Hickton made it work with a flawless live internet access to the entire funeral. Heaven only knows how Jenna achieved all this with what she was up against, but I want to extend a massive thank you to her and her team at Gee & Hickton. We got through this horrific day, and it's challenges, purely due to the work behind the scenes, by them, to ensure everything ran smoothly from first appointing them as our Funeral Directors, all the way through to the end, and follow up. Blessings to you for helping us give our son the send off he deserved, nothing but the best!

The team were very accomodating and showed great care and compassion during a difficult time. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

These are the people you want around you at such a desperate time! Daryl came immediately and made us feel safe in the knowledge our beloved dad/husband was going to be okay while in his care. You are all amazing and I'm eternally grateful.

As you can imagine losing our 15-year-old daughter to cancer was the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to us. In amongst our pain and grief all we wanted to do was try and have a funeral that was a fitting send off for our wonderful girl. And this is where Gavin; Cassie and all the team a Gee and Hickton were so amazing. They came into our home and instantly put us at ease with everything which needed to happen. They took the time to explain thing to us, to get to know us and genuinely listen to what we wanted from the funeral. Most importantly they really listened and took the time to understand about who our girl was and what she was like as a person; so that her service could reflect that. And from there they helped organise a wonderful funeral - complete with little touches that they organised, like a disco ball on her casket that she would have loved. We were just so happy with the caring service that Gavin; Cassie and everyone at Gee and Hickton provided. Thank you so much

We dealt with Liz Pereira at the Upper Hutt Gee and Hickton and found her service to be excellent. She guided us through the arrangement process with compassion and professionalism. The funeral for mum went very smoothly and we are grateful for her help and support. Thank you

The worst funeral directors ever!!!!!DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.Go anyplace else just whatever you do DON'T use Gee and Hickton.They do not care about anything but your money and taking as much of it as possible for doing absolutely nothing. You have been respectful, professional and passionate.Our family was very satisfied with the whole process of the viewing, the funeral, and the burial. Thank you Megan for staying after hours on a Friday to help us out. And for guiding and helping us along on the day of the funeral.The excellent work from your great team helped our family in our grieving process during this saddest time.
