We stopped for dinner before travelling on to Dunedin. The burgers were huge..the chips crunchy and fluffy inside..the crunch chicken moist and tasty..a huge meal at a reasonable price! Praise to the chef..thankyou.

Went here two days in a row and fizzy drink was not fizzy. Tried to order a different one each night and they were both completely flat. Not good for a hot day out and wanting a carbonated drink! They have a fake complaint button at their bar so I guess they’d prefer complaints on here. Burger meat was not tasty either. Staff looks depressed to work here. Beware of the other reviews. They don’t look accurate. Lawrence needs more than one food option!!!!

Having read recent positive reviews, of course we had to come to the local for a good pub meal. We had the Chicken schnitzel and the beef schnitzel, and the bangers and mash. All great flavoursome sauces and a great salad with each meal. A couple of bottles of Speights ultra and we can say we had another great pub meal. Great friendly banter from staff and locals. Thanks.

Dont come here. The staff were very rude and the place looks like a living room with a few tables in it. Left before we even ordered.

Traveled on the intercity and it stopped at this little town called Lawrence. If you are driving the south island or near here definitely worth stopping into this warm and friendly pub. I especially loved the welcome from the resident cat!!Relaxing by the fire with a drink is the perfect way to spend some time during a cold winter day. Great location on the main street and staff are very friendly. ⭐

Staying in Lawrence for the night we decided to call into the local pub for a drink. Though it was late afternoon we were surprised how quiet it was. We enjoyed our visit and would return again when next time we stay in Lawrence.

The Chicken Schnitzel and Lamb Shanks were amazing, I definitely recommend this restaurant. We ate here a second night, both had pizzas, they were amazing, best we've had in a long time. Highly recommend!
