What a wicked idea it was to have a public garden located here. Beautiful gardens in a wonderful location. Take the time and take a visit. Gold coin donation entry.

Very nice little paradise. Unfortunately the garden was hit by two landslides due to the cyclone recently and some parts were not accessible. But it was a great experience anyways and it’s lovely to see how nicely everything is arranged and taken care of

Amazing garden. Lots of cool plants. Beautiful rivers and waterfalls. There's even a tunnel underground to go through

Very beautiful. They have done a wonderful job of restoring the gardens after the cyclone damage.

This was a lovely day out with family, and I’d really strongly recommend it to anyone with the time.Started the morning off at the Quail cafe, enjoying stunning coffee, and a range of food options including great Vegan options. From there, we meandered through to begin a pre-booked Golf Cart tour with Nancy, who was a wonderfully friendly and hospitable tour guide. The cart is a great idea, and enables those with limited mobility to get up and enjoy the entirety of the gardens.

The Quarry Gardens are great. Weather has wreaked a lot of damage this last Winter so we couldn't explore ALL of the gardens but it was a lovely day and there was much to admire and smell. I was interested to see so many Camellias (in the shady areas) growing amongst Tropical flora. A great many of the Camellias were perfumed so, being careful of the bees, I dipped my nose into quite a few of the huge variety growing here. I would suggest that it's unusual to see so many tropical plants gathered together in a NZ site.

Beautiful spot to visit even with the recent landslides. Grabbed some orchid flowers too which are gorgeous. Lovely reception lady. Thanks

Quarry gardens? Really? That's what I thought as well. But, wow, what a stunning experience this was! From artistic sculptures to indigenous plants and trees and exotic beauties, its all here. And best of all, you can do the whole garden in under a hour with easy walkways and clearly identified paths. The Echo tunnels were a nice surprise too! We did not get to see a real Kiwi (aww!) but maybe next time. Lovely cafe on site and pay for entrance by means of gold coin admission. Or just be a jerk and don't donate...

It was ovely wandering the tracks around this old quarry, with the interesting planting of bushes and flowers some native and some not. All done by volunteers. There is also a cafe on site.
