beware, never call them for any digger repair service. their price is shocking, hourly rate includes time to the site & back, and have to charge for extra vehicle travelling cost of $80. on top of this, job took 1- 1.25h charged for 3.25h. 2h on the way to travel 46km. driving at 23km/h on a saturday morning on motorway I guess.

I originally purchased a used Kohler gen set from Transdiesel that was advertised to have approx. 3000 to 4000 hours on it . This seemed like a good option as I needed one in a hurry. From day one, after we cut a hole in the deck of a trawler to install it. It gave endless problems and has had in excess of a further $20,000 spent on it to say nothing for lost time and inconvenience that has been caused. Ultimately we found that the unit had had a heat exchanger failure and salt water had flooded the engine coolant. By the time the previous owners realized that the heat exchanger had failed and there was a lot of damage to the motor, they replaced the heat exchanger with an aftermarket one. (as there are no parts available for Kohler units) The original owners traded it in on a new unit and Transdiesel then flicked the damaged motor on to some unsuspecting buyer. Worse Transdiesel never checked the motor before they on sold it and passed a terrible problem on an unsuspecting purchaser, who incidentally thought they were dealing with a reputable co. The problem has been ongoing for nearly 12 months during which time we have replaced every single part and pump and pipe on the motor. In despair I have purchased a new one but certainly is not a Kohler
