A quintessential suburban New Zealand bakery, delicious pies and hearty servings of chicken and chips. I have maintained for at least sixteen years that the potato top pies here are the best I've ever had and was pleased to find that they have not yet let me down during a recent visit.

Although very nice delish food most of the time and cheap. Lady needs to be more onto it when serving customers. Maybe taking her headphones out and listening to what your actually wanting instead of going 'huh?' Or giving you a scoop of chips that you didnt even ask for and trying to charge you for it is not good customer service. The other staff are genuinely friendly and welcome you, it can get quite busy and its normally hard to find a park right outside the bakery or along it but I guess that's not their fault. Will rate 3 stars as the food is good and usually fresh.

Great range of bakery items from cakes to slices, pies, sandwiches, fried food too there is something for everyone! Well worth a visit!

Usually a queue. Lots of regulars. Very basic place where service style is a bit raw at times. Best aspect is the potato topped savouries and potato topped pies. Always hot and tasty. Chips quite good too. Good value. I sit in the Tawa Plaza and eat. Definitely not a gourmet eaterie but good for quickly killing hunger in a satisfying way.

Best chicken and chips. I always head to the pink pineapple when I get the odd chance to go. Wonderful, family run bakery. Fresh product and will make an effort if you want something different in your sandwich. Way better than the bakery further down the road (tawa bakery), and value for money. Doesn't do coffee but has heaps of cold drinks available.

The most dry chicken you'll ever have in your life. Rubbish. Pies are below average. Go get a Irvines pie it better lol
