There is no way this place should be operating!! We arrived to water left all over the floor in the 'foyer', said reception open but no service or anyone around. We tried calling but no one would answer the phone. Finally got a key to our rooms only to find they had not been cleaned, rubbish everywhere, blood on the bedding and the room stunk like a bunch of students had partied all night. Didn't want to go back down in the elevator due to blood, cotton buds with ear wax and feaces in there so chose the stairs only to find even more of the same! We did get upgraded which meant we were 2 floors higher which also meant more time with the blood, feaces and earwax. There were 5 of us and somehow we managed to share the 2 cups, 1 fork, 2 knives and 3 plates. To whoever was in the room prior to us - we flushed the toilet for you.The only saving grace is the location which is great, a 20min walk to the Viaduct or a short uber. I would recommend trying the local prison or homeless shelter before resorting to empire apartments.

Lovely apartment, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, nice kitchen with fridge, all clean. Location is good, around 1,5 km from city centre. Friendly staff at reception. All in all a place I'd like to visit again whenever in Auckland.Had to withdraw one star for providing internet only with payment.

Stayed here 2 nights for new years, all doors (including the bathroom door ) would not lock which is a big inconvenience, no privacy. The beds are extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. There are stains all over the room and in the shower floor which shows the rooms don’t get cleaned or checked up on properly. Our toilet was leaking for both days we stayed, not fun. Finding a park was the hardest part, people would sit in their car and wait for a park to become available because the car park is so small. And to top this all off, the employees do not pick up the phone whatsoever. Good luck getting in touch with an employee to book a stay here.

Rooms are of average size and well ventilated. They don't offer parking and direct you to Wilson parking (2 minutes walk) which charges $6 for 30 minutes parking.Housekeeping is poorly done and vacuum cleaners must be borrowed from reception at ground floor. This place is far away from Queen Street and is at the base of a hill - you have to walk up the slope to access city centre. There are always people fighting or blasting loud music early in the morning. If you are unlucky you will have a flatmate who constantly spray perfume in the communal area.

I stayed here in 2019 and the property manager during that time here was extremely unprofessional. I had no time to check the room before moving in and I was assigned a terrible apartment with flies all over the place. Soon after, I informed her that I need a different apartment but she refused. I knew for a fact that one of the rooms of one of my friends apartment in the same building was vacant and I specifically asked her whether it's possible to move there. She refused citing no reason. It was also my first time living out of my home country so I was not very confident to move out and find a different apartment, given the locations of this one was very convenient for me. Although she agreed for the room change few months later it was not due to my request but to assign my room and another room in my apartment which was vacant to two people who wanted to stay together. The common area was in a terrible condition and she acted like I am responsible for converting that to a livable place.

Super basic and budget, good for a short stay if you only want to sleep in your room.Rooms are extremely dated, smelt very musty and had no fans only windows. The place was clean enough, and the beds fine.Wouldn't reccommened unless you are okay with extremely basic accommodation!Location is good but no parking on site and the street is super busy. Bit of a walk up Secure paid parking up the street.

So I am firstly glad im alive. Not only from the state of my room ( the smell !! ) the rudest service in history and the Jeffery Darmar one massive knife available in my cutlery drawer ( maybe for protection but i would of liked a fork or spoon even to stir my cuppa )While I was not expecting much it was so bad and the amount of times the staff got mad at me ! Firstly my TV didnt work - my fault - we booked 2 beds - there is 1 - my fault! You name it.If you have kids stay away. The bathroom had no toilet paper or scrubbing brush or anything - was just myself my best friend and our massive knife in the kitchen
