4 of us stayed at Dansey's Pass Hotel June 2023 on a very chilly evening. The staff ,the service, and the food and drinks were excellent as usual. I'm GF and the chef was most helpful looking after my needs.I began staying here over 20 years ago and the problems you have with such an historic hotel such as water , power and heating have all been dealt with beautifully. I have stayed here both when the Pass has been closed by snow from the Duntroon side and at the height of summer where we stayed a couple of nights while on the Rail Trail. Both are pretty special but the benefit of summer is that you can sit outside and enjoy the evenings. It just gets better and better with age. And this was with completely new staff from the 2 times we have been here.For one of our group it was his first time visiting and he was blown away by the warmth of the staff, the great food , the look, feel and history of the hotel and of course the huge fire place. The rooms are warm and comfortable and the staff were most accommodating. If you want to get away from it all for a night or two with friends then this piece of NZ history is a great place to stay. Thanks from all of us - we will all be back - again.

This place is a gem, it has been lovingly restored, right down to the pull chain flush toilets.Huge fire place in the lounge that was kept going for the whole event.The staff are very friendly, nothing is a bother, food excellent, rooms spotless.I would totally recommend the hotel as a function venue.We all shared my son's 50th there.The drive in is worth it.

Beer was the most expensive in the South Island so far.....I didn't eat from menu because of prices, however.... the Japanese waitress was awesome and I really enjoyed chatting to her in general. The actual pub restaurant area is lovely....lots to look at! Amazing fireplace and neat outdoor area so I do recommend stopping in for a drink etc

Loved staying here! Beautiful historic hotel with huge fireplace. Excellent staff & our dinner of Stewart Island Blue Cod/Rib eye was delicious.QUIET, clean, warm room, comfy bed + quality linen.10/10, this place is GREAT value for $$$Will definitely be staying againThankyou Chris...you put the 'Good' in our Easter Friday 2023 x

We were a group of 36 Rotarians and partners on a 4 wheel drive trip and stayed the weekend here at Danseys Pass Hotel. We were very warmly welcomed by Rita and her staff on arrival and during our entire stay. The meals were outstanding, well above what is expected at a country hotel. This is a great old historic hotel where the rooms are comfortable and clean. With a big open fire the bar and lounge area has plenty of room to sit and relax. We could not fault our stay and are looking forward to our return. Well done Danseys Pass Hotel and staff.

Danseys Pass Hotel
Stayed a night on a rail trail bike tour. Amazing hosts in an iconic location.The hotel facilities and rooms are amazing and the open fire and leather couches are made for relaxing. We had great food and loved staying. Added bonus was the first big snow of the season. Highly recommend staying here.
