Baby, pass me the hookah!! Dare I say this the best shisha lounge in Auckland. Conveniently located on mt eden end of dom rd. Lovely owner and adorable staff always make it a night to remember.

We decided to try Yala based on the recommendation of a friend. Hidden upstairs I was pleasantly surprised to find a large, open and bright space. It was tastefully decorated and enhanced by the great music playing at just the right level in the background.The owners should be complimented for their service which was welcoming and professional. They also helped us in choosing what to order, suggesting options that allowed us to try a variety of dishes, but also save us money.The Sudanese food was simple, flavourful and delicious. The lightly spiced chicken fell off the bone and melted in the mouth. The vegetarian platter gave us a chance to try a variety of curries accompanied by the bread, which soaked up all the flavours.Will definitely be back, especially as this is one place where vegan and vegetarians are well catered for.

Pretty good place but the owners seem to lack business ethics. They randomly shut down often to accommodate their own social network. Even when its open, the staff is normally more interested in serving their mates.

Amazing everything people, food & shisha. You’ll have to try it out yourself it hasn’t disappointed plus… I’m picky.

We had a very tasty dinner in a spacious and nice atmosphere. I highly recommend the doro wot, it was some of the best doro wot I’ve had in New Zealand. Food was incredible overall. Will be back

Prompt and friendly service. Ordered both the meat and vegetarian Beyaynetu platters that were delicious. On this occasion we tried the Ethopian items on the menu. Will be back for sure to try out the Sudanese menu.

This restaurant/shisha lounge is a brilliant spot to be in. Central Auckland, with parking nearby. A Sudanese and Ethiopian restaurant with lots of class and taste. The service was lovely, the staff had a great sense of humor and hospitality.The shisha was flavourful and lasted for a long time. The prices were standard and worth the service as well as hospitality provided. The music was perfect, not loud to completely obstruct the conversation you're having, just enough to keep the vibe flowing in the background.The lighting in the lounge is well designed, the seating and design of the interior restaurant is immaculate. Beautiful art and placements of statement pieces. Very clean restaurant and well taken care of.A very new business, doing well because they show proper care to their customers. I can compare this to many Auckland shisha places in central. This spot has the best shisha in central, doesn't burn in 10 minutes, you can actually taste the flavours and you don't feel scammed.Thank you for your hard-work and dedication, keep it up, you're making a lot of people happy. I hope to see multiple branches in Auckland In Shaa Allah. I'll be coming back soon !

Came across this hidden gem and safe to say this is some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. Beautiful atmosphere and kind customer service. The lounge is run by a mum and her son and they have created an amazing space that caters for vegetarians also. Highly recommend
