Had an urgent job we needed looked at and after trying numerous other plumbers with no sucess, we got a hold of David the first time and he was at our place within the hour! Avoid if you can, I'd rather use a Master Plumber firm and save yourself the hassle.Long story short, the quality of work and lack of professionalism meant that I had to pay someone to redo the vanity install and finish the job I'd paid in advance for. Keep reading for the details and decide to use them at your own risk. Pictures attached.Initially when I contacted David, he was very responsive, got a quote for the works quick and we agreed I'd get the hardware and he'd want to do it in one day. I wanted to use a local small business.While it was hard to organise cabinetry work required to fit the dishwasher before the date of the work, David said that he could come back to finish it. There was also an issue with needing some work on tiling for the toilet install which he let me know and gave it a go. Appreciate that, and he's not a tiler and it was more work - fair call.So at that point 3 of 4 parts of the job complete and we were planning to get the dishwasher in when we could get the cabinet work done.Where it all came unstuck was the quality of work. Tenants sent me pics and the silicone work around the vanity is messy and no finesse about the hole in the wall for the connections. Maybe I'm picky but decide for yourselves.So then I got in touch with David and said I was unhappy with what I'd received, he got defensive, said that the tiling work was extra so I now had to pay more for him to come back for the dishwasher and to clean up the silicone around the vanity. He dodged my attempts to contact him after and finally when we could discuss this like civilised folk, I offered to drop the pending work but expected that since some work was incomplete, I should get some part of my money back. He countered that he would do the dishwasher and redo the vanity but charge for tiling. Something at this point nearly 4 months on, I was just keen to get over with. And then he half organised a date and still bailed on me and hasn't replied since. Kept my payment in full.I just gave up and got a proper Master Plumber accredited firm to finish the dishwasher and the vanity for my tenants.Thats been my experience and it wasn't good.

Great service with an eye for detail and they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed and installed within an hour. I had a toilet installed on a Friday after around 4PM.Highly recommend them and will be using them in the future for any other works that are needing done.

Hi David, I sent you a text a couple of days ago and made numerous calls since but have had no reponse from you at all. So I had to pay another plumber to fix the leak that you said you fixed and charged me for a few months ago. If you have done a professional job, why not own up?

Dave, I rang you on the 22 June 3.27pm to enlist your services with a leaking and moving toilet and sent through my address bout 3 mins later as requested. I heard from Lisa to accept your terms and conditions on the 24th June and thought great it will be fixed soon. then i waited, and waited and heard nothing from you, I finally rang you on the 14th July (22 days later) to ask you what was going on, to find you had forgotten, you arranged to come over on the 15th in the morning and didn't arrive so I rang again to find you were busy and it had to wait you did come round to look at the toilet however it was still leaking, still refilling as the water leaked out after you left and you received another text and call from me. You came back on the 17th July and replaced the refill valve, I'm not entirely sure why as it was working fine replacing all the water that was leaking out, and of course it didn't fix the leaking so you got another text from me.Today 28th July, 42 days after my first call, a plumber from another company turned up saying you sent him, I was not informed he was coming what if no one was at home, he has replaced a washer and it appears to be fixed now.So anyone looking for a plumber, Dave doesn't let you know what is going on, Dave doesn't turn up when he says he will, Dave rushes in and out in 10 mins and doesn't properly check things so ends up doing unneeded work, Dave also offers discounts for google reviews so be careful believing them all. As for value for money i haven't got the bill yet but as its been 3 visits in 42 days to replace a washer Im not holding my breath for a reasonable bill.Updates17 Sept 2020 got a text thanking me for my review today and asking whether i had received a bill yet, whats that 6 weeks after this was settled?

Smarter Plumbing Limited made time during a busy Christmas time to come and replace a leaking, laundry pipe. Dave kept me posted on his arrival time and the pipes are now replaced and working efficiently. He also gave me some good advice on moving a hot water cylinder. The fact that this the second time I've used this company says it all.

One of the adaptors that connects the water meter to our main pipe had burst just this valentines day 2021 (when the Auckland level 3 lockdown was announced) and we were having a hard time contacting a plumber from other providers. I rang Smarter Plumbing early next morning, asking for an available plumber and they replied immediately and agreed to send one after I provided my details via text message. The guy arrived and asked me where and what the problem was, then fixed the leak in around 30mins, and did an awesome job even though it was raining outside. He explained to me in detailed what was done when I asked. Everything was done in professional manner. Happy with the service and will contact them again in the future if ever I get any plumbing-related issues. 5/5 will recommend to others.
