This truck is, for me, the highlight of the Rotary fair in Petone every year. They may be famous for their Japanese fried chicken - I can’t comment on that, since I don’t eat meat, but I sure can sing praises for their tempura veggie bowl... perfectly cooked sushi rice, pickled veg, crispy tempura veg, fresh veg, lovely combo of sauces and sesame seeds... YES, PLEASE. The balance of flavours and textures is on point.The chef has put his own twist on Japanese cuisine without disrespecting it. This truck serves high quality food made with care and a deft hand. I wish I could say the same for every food truck I’ve patronised. If they had a location in my neighbourhood I’d visit every week. Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Not a very good experience here in lyall bay, I got the sushi burrito, salmon sushi bowl and the fkg burger..rice was very stodgy like porridge so the roll and sushi bowl was not enjoyable at all. Definitely not worth $40+

It is so tasty, tried both firebird (not very spicy) and flammable. Great combination of ingredients, and the rice perfect. Only 30min from airport, if you have to wait for long come here and eat something. You can also take a peek at the Weta Caves nearby.
