Whitcoulls Riccarton

The Riccarton staff are friendly, responsive and helpful, i.e., Lucy and Jeremy.This review is about my purchase experience online. I was directed by Whitcoulls HQ Customer Service to this store because they have the last Lamy 2000 pen in stock. When I received the pen by courier, it had a missing part. It was the part that clipped the pen cap. I hadn't expected to return it to Whitcoulls for warranty service less than 24 hours after receiving it.Under the advice of the Riccarton store, I went to my local Hamilton store. The Hamilton asked me to bring the pen to other stores to exchange it because they have none. The staff could have checked their system. There wasn't any assurance of how long the repair" would take.Long story short

Riccarton Whitcoulls is a amazing Place to get Birthday Cards and gifts as well

The renovation has opened up the store and made it more modern the staff are also helpful as always, Love it!

A very good store for books, stationery and toys. Had been there a couple of times during their closing time and their staff were polite while informing that the store had to be shut for the day.

As a puzzle lover, it's great finding a place where you can get good quality ones. Not too much choice, but you can find (finally) Clementoni and Ravenburger ones. I am always tempted to get a new one!! Love it. Plus, the stuff is very friendly and helpful.

The only thing I was disappointed by was the fact the middle aged women behind the counter gave back change for a purchase of a $36 book $10 short.I had to bring it to her attention.

Nice range of books and some interesting toys /games, gift ideas... More expensive than buying from a department store of course (Eg Roald Dahl books are double the price that the wharehouse sells them for, and 2.5 times the price that paper plus often specials them for).Also often have many missing numbers in series of books they stock.Helpful friendly staff though!

I was able to find the books I needed easily and quickly. The staff were able to give options to obtain they books they didn't have straight away so they showed they actually cared. Either by ordering it in showing other stores with stock nearby etc.Good clean layout and a generally tidy store.

Consistently friendly and approachable staff even when they are super busy.
