Quiet atmosphere. Good range of gluten free items to choose from. The gf keto brownie was delicious. Several teas to choose from. My companion was a frequent customer who enjoyed their coffee. Service was efficient. The Cafe was busy during the mid to late morning I visited. Most customers appeared to be regulars. 10minute parking just outside good for dropouts.

Used to love this place and called in today for the first time in ages. Only wanted a smoothie and asked what was in the Berry one besides the berries. Was told the Berry smoothie doesn't have berries, just syrup and to choose banana if I wanted real fruit. I dont doubt my smoothie had banana ...but what on earth did they add that made it so yuck? I would go back to The Presevatory because of past good experience but would never buy another smoothie.

Excellent place to eat at, reasonably priced menu, and great selection. I came from Auckland not knowing where to go and eat, and stumbled across this place. Well worth the stop.

Has lost its finesse .. needs to be spruced up and cleaned. It's been a few years since I've been here and it is definitely not the same place anymore. I was really disappointed.. such a shame as it use to be one of my favourite places.

Nice little cafe, good choice of sweet and savory cabinet food. I had an espresso truffle and an Almond milk latte which came to $9.50 so probably on the more expensive side but it was good.

This is clearly one of my favourite cafés in Christchurch. I have been going here for about 2 years and the coffee has never let me down. The cabinet food is also good.

We ordered creamy mushroom on toast and gentlemen's brekkie, both of which was tasteless and extremely oily!!! There was so much oil left on the plate, the bread in the brekkie was completely soggy, drenched with butter or oil.The cheese roll was stale.So disappointing. I also saw a lady returned the food she brought from the cabinet.We had to cancel our outing and drive straight home as my partner felt so unwell from the oily mushroom and stale cheese roll.
