I have no problem accepting that the business will not honour an expired grabone voucher. However, I did not expect to get such a rude response to my question, along the line of: that's bad for you" and "read the terms and conditions". Not sure how you expect to survive in the current economic climate

A hidden gem just outside of the Christchurch CBD, Boteco Cafe & Restaurant is a must-go for Mediterranean cuisine. The atmosphere is cosy, yet open, with large windows looking onto a private and well-presented outdoor dining space. The smell of cooking meat hangs in the air; an aromatic entrée to the delicious food that is to come. The dinner for my group of 4 consisted of perfectly crumbed popcorn prawns, well-seasoned beef and lamb kebabs, and an indulgent authentic mousaka. Surprisingly the accompanying garlic aioli dipping sauce was a standout, taking the prawns and kebabs to the next level. And if you are lucky, there may be complementary authentic Turkish delights offered at the counter as you leave; great texture and not overly sweet!A delectable experience and a memorable setting! I look forward to returning in the future to try other items across the menu.

Yet another wonderful evening at BotecoHaving had many good experiences with family and friends here, I recommended Boteco for an end of the year dinner. The owner Mah offered a set menu- an entree and a mains. He offered 2 choices for entree and 4 choices for mains. We were a group of 9. We all ordered different things. I had falafel served with pita bread as entree; and eggplant dish as mains. Both dishes were delicious and well presented. The quantity was more than enough. All others too liked their dishes - no one other than me had dined here before and everyone said they would be happy to come back another time; as would I.Highly recommended if you want an authentic dining experience.

Last week we enjoyed a night out at Boteco Cafe and was very impressed. We had the Mediterranean platter and opted for the meat version. It was all beautifully cooked and presented and also very tasty There was plenty of food for the 2 of us. They also have genuine Turkish delight which was delicious.Thank you for a lovely meal. Definitely worth a visit.

Boteco is a warm and friendly little place, made that way by the generous and genuine welcome you will receive from the owner and staff when you arrive. On a warm afternoon or evening, the outdoor seating would be an excellent choice. There are gas heaters next to some of those tables for when it gets a bit chilly. We stayed inside as the Christchurch easterly was whistling through. Our meals were really good. A nice size, but not ridiculously large as so many places seem to dish up these days. It was just the right amount. The wine list has good variety, and Three Boys craft beer on tap with other brands available from the fridge kept me very happyThe free square of Turkish delight we were offered as we left was a lovely gesture.Definitely recommend this place - add it to your must-go places list.

Ordered the platter and lamb kebab. Enjoyed the hommus, falafel and kebab. The waiting time for the food can be slightly long, but I guess good food is worth the wait.

We popped in on a rainy Wednesday night to get a takeaway souvlaki, but ended up dining in and having a quiet beverage (Three Boys tap Pilsener) with our meal. Warm, friendly service, reasonably priced, delicious souvlakis, a good wine list and a cute little beer garden means we'll be back again. Thanks for having us!

I absolutely loved this place. It's quite small but somehow it feels more intimate. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was very good. The portions are generous, well served and delicious. I particularly recommend the popcorn shrimp and the authentic moussaka. The best one I had so far.

What an awesome restaurant. We were looking for place to have dinner, for our daughters 20th. The food was amazing. Their kebabs and the meat platter, have made it into my top 3 best. The service was top notch, welcoming and friendly. The price definitely reasonable. I highly recommend supporting these little joints that deliver an awesome experience.

A hidden gem. If we hadn’t had a voucher to use, we would be none the wiser to this amazing little neighbourhood bistro. We chatted to the owner and other guests and ate delicious grilled meat and veges and salad . Also had the best babaganoush ever. It has an small wine list but good quality wines. It was such a great night . We will return and bring friends.
