Our stay at scenic waterways was one of the highlights of the Wilderness trail for me. Cindy and Gavin were wonderful hosts. They provided the perfect experience, lovely accommodation, amazing food, including exceptional coffee, and they were warm and welcoming. The river cruise through the wetlands was another highlight on a beautiful evening. Their love and knowledge of the environment permeates everything they do. Experience Westcoast scenic waterways for yourself...and soon! Highly recommended!

We send many of our customers to Gavin and Cindy and we have so many amazing reviews of their wonderful time there. On arrival there are refreshments and a choccy on the bed. The Scenic Cruise is amazing and they even serve biscuits and a hot drink - or you can buy some wine or beer and take it on board. The meals are all freshly home made and largely organic. The hospitality is second to none and nothing is ever a problem. We love having such a great place for our weary cyclists to rest after a day of biking on the trails. Thanks you from us all in Hokitika and Nelson.

Fabulous accommodation and fabulous hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Cindy and Gavin, gorgeous warm and spacious cabins and spa was a special added extra. Dinner, breakfast and packed lunch were superb, highly recommend staying at Scenic Waterways for a wonderful experience

This review is more than long overdue. Cindy and Gavin, congratulations to you both, for both your cruises and your accommodation. We felt very spoilt with fresh eggs and milk everyday. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy your hospitality. Also ask Gavin about his custom cruises if you can't fit the set times or just like the whole boat to yourself. I could go on and on about how great our time was but let's leave it at 10 Stars. Awesome.

The hosts of this place were amazing. Hospitable, friendly and good sense of humour. Rooms were great as were the facilities. They catered really well for us and had good wines for sale. Definitely stay here again and definitely do the waterway tour on the boat.

I rented a kayak for the day and went down the Mahinapua creek to the lake! It was an amazing experience I would highly recommend it! The owners Gavin and Cindy are wonderful people. They exceeded my expectations!

Good value canoe hire - cheaper if you go direct with them. Very friendly staff and what looks like good accommodation on site too. Would have liked to stay there had we not had other plans!

Couldn’t fault any aspect of our stay. Rooms were spotless, great beds, showers with decent pressure. Breakie n dinner was delicious. Super friendly hosts who just couldn’t do enough to ensure we had 2 super enjoyable nights.

Wow an amazing place to stay.We stayed for the first night ofOur wilderness trail experience.Cindy and Gavin the loveliest hists. We didn't get to do the cruise but the alternative was greatly appreciated.The food was delicious and far more than we could all eat.Having breakfast with the cows was very peaceful.We were sad to leave next morning.Thank you both for such a great start to our holiday.
