Taipa Beach Resort

It was not a nice experience, a nice presentation on our plates, every dish was bland in flavor, and mash with my lamb shank was very cold while meat was warm. Nice friendly staff, who didn't want to take our tip after our meals.

Dated facility but still above average for Far North (speaking as a local, too). Food nice. Felt sorry for what seemed understaffed but could have just been a few sickies. Excellent location adjacent to beach. Spacious rooms and multi-channel TV services at least.

We visited as part of a very large group that pretty much took over the place. Even though the rooms are a little tired now (I understand the whole place will get a refresh next year), they are extremely well appointed and comfortable.Through no fault of its own, NZ hospitality is suffering badly from staff shortages at the moment and this was clearly evident during our two night stay but, the team that were there dud their best and over all, made our experience a pleasant oneIn terms of location, provided you have a beachfront room (although there is a road between motel & beach) the setting is pretty much idyllic with a panoramic view out across the bay

The restaurant gave 2 out of 4 people food poisoning! We've just been there, we couldn't eat the Mains, so only paid for the starters we had eaten, 2 of the 4 had seafood starters & now are now Vomiting & have Diarrhoea.The waitress staff were lovely & the only reason we gave 'a' star but obviously the food has made what was supposed to be a nice family meal out, into a nightmare!!The Deputy manager didn't even come talk to us, like they were supposed to, the lovely waitress sorted out our upset.We would have left it at that but then 2 of us fell ill before we even got back home (30 minute drive away)Do NOT eat the seafood here!!

Had Brunch at the Taipa Resort Cafe this morningThe 2 girls on front counter taking orders & making coffees/teas etc were super lovely, friendly & did a brilliant job considering there were a few customers.The location is just stunning. Our food was fairly average but was still nice.Thankyou girls - you are doing a great job!

Staff were good, friendly and helpful. Place looks tired and could do with some updates. Good shower. Forget the restaurant, shocking service and choices. Dissapointed that at 7 o'clock on a Friday night you were restricted to pizza and chips and then had to wait an hour for that while drink service was shocking

I'll be honest i was only parked outside next to the beach to have a quick snooze before driving back to auckland.But if google insists on a review then i could mention that i ate at the restaurant 5 years ago with some people i had worked with at the time and can homestly say that for Taipa it had to be the best place to eat a sit-down meal, besides my batch.If i remember correctly I had swordfish that costed something like $50 and by the time it got to my table i had to ask if they snuck out the backdoor and speared it fresh in the 20 minutes i waited because it was a massive slab like a steak i swear i wasnt expectimg that. Prolly 500 grams.Not sure what its like now though like i said this is a memory from 5 years ago.

Great experience with super friendly and professional staff...has been an absolute delightful experience. Courtney on front desk has been incredibly accommodating of our needs. The restaurant food is served in a fantastic timely manner and is represented to a high standard...the bar staff display a great rang of cocktaiks.. rooms are clean and tidy, very impressed...the position in beautiful with incrediabley breath taking walks along the beach...in times after covid its difficult for some large businesses to recover...so many peoples expectctations can be a little unreasonable...I would highly recommend this resort as a must experience for the all round package...looking forward to next visit

Beautiful location. Well appointed rooms that were spotlessly clean. Lovely staff. Restaurant (room service), the food was fantastic especially the calamari - outstanding. We will definitely be back.
